Rewards are on the horizon with American Airlines

We’re pleased to announce that the changes to the way you collect Avios will also apply to flights you take with our oneworld partner American Airlines.

From 18 October 2023 you’ll collect Avios on British Airways, American Airlines and Iberia marketed flights based on the price of your ticket instead of the distance you fly.

You’ll collect Avios at the same rate with American Airlines as you will with British Airways – 6 Avios per pound (GBP) spent as a Blue Member, 7 for Bronze Members, 8 for Silver Members and 9 for Gold Members.

This will make it easier to work out how many Avios you'll collect and a typical flight could now give you more Avios.

Set up a free Household Account with up to six other people in your household, including children. You'll be able to pool your Avios to bring those rewards even closer.
