Seven temperature controlled swimming pools are scattered throughout the sub-tropical grounds – three are for those staying in Citadel accommodation, and the remaining four are for Retreat guests. The largest is the Lagoon Pool, set in the resort’s Citadel section. The Serenity Pool sits at the heart of The Citadel, too. This tranquil adult-only haven (13+) is framed by lush greenery and golf course views – perfect for a peaceful pause. The Persian Garden Pool is also a quiet option and situated in the Citadel section, too. If you head to Abama beach, it’s sheltered by manmade rocks, making it safe for swimming. You'll also find two stunning natural lava pools nestled by the pier here.

Find serenity at the 2,500 square-metre spa, where a range of water and relaxation therapies will soothe and revitalise you. Soak in the hydrotherapy pool or enjoy a signature massage. All spa treatments and therapies incorporate locally sourced ingredients, such as sweet-smelling, tropical papaya or soothing Aloe Vera. There’s also a herbal steam bath, a Turkish hammam, plunge pool and tranquil spa garden.

If you’re feeling active, hone your game on the beautiful 18-hole golf course while soaking up glorious ocean vistas. Perfect for advanced golfers, the varied terrain here includes 22 water hazards and white-sand bunkers. Otherwise, head to the state-of-the-art fitness centre for a workout, practise your serve at the tennis court or enjoy a jog along the trails. If you're in the mood for more, you can join wellness and fitness sessions, plus daily yoga classes.

The Ritz Kids’ Club is a great recreational area for children between the ages of 4 and 12 years old – and it's totally complimentary. It offers indoor and outdoor space, and a range of activities based on themes of water, land, environmental responsibility and culture. Kids are educated on topics ranging from coral reefs and forests, to recycling and sustainability, storytelling, art and even nutrition. Reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance via the resort app or concierge. Children under four years of age can access the outdoor playground, Ritz Kids’ Garden and indoor planetarium when accompanied by a parent or guardian. For an additional supplement, you can reserve a lunch slot (between 12:30 and 13:30), so the kids can refuel and get back to the fun. There's also hands-on creative workshops and more family-friendly activities to enjoy.

Dining information

There’s a great choice of dining options here, appealing to all tastes. Begin the day with breakfast at La Veranda, where you’ll find an international buffet spread and omelette bar. Alternatively, those staying in The Retreat accommodation can enjoy a scenic breakfast at the clifftop restaurant, El Mirador. This ocean-facing venue opens to all guests for lunch and dinner and specialises in locally sourced seafood and paella dishes.

The Beach Club is perfect for a light lunch. Situated on the beach, this al fresco venue offers spectacular ocean views towards La Gomera Island and serves freshly prepared barbecue delights and drinks until sundown. There’s also the poolside outlet, Txoko, where you can taste local specialities, tapas and refreshments by the main pool, while Verde Mar offers fresh and local cuisine.

For dinner, don’t miss the fabulous M.B., created by the award-winning chef, Marin Berasategui. This Michelin-starred restaurant serves authentic Basque cuisine, accompanied by fine wines from the wine cellar. Akira Back is the namesake eatery founded by Michelin-star award-winning Chef Akira Back. This sleek restaurant features an evocative modern art collection and a menu inspired by modern Japanese cuisine. Steeped in Korean heritage, the dynamic tasting menu here features several signature dishes like the AB Tuna Pizza with locally flavours also incorporated. Additional dining options include a tempting Italian restaurant called Verona. Regional volcanic wines are available at most restaurants, and the Lobby Bar provides creative cocktails and live music late into the evening.

For stays during 2025, the half board option includes breakfast and a set three-course lunch or dinner at a restaurant of your choosing within the resort (drinks not included). The full board plan includes breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, each as a set three-course meal at a restaurant of your choosing (drinks not included).

From 2026, the half board plan will include a daily breakfast and a dining credit per person (credit amounts vary for adults and children), which can be used at any resort restaurant. The full board plan includes breakfast and separate dining credits for both lunch and dinner, also redeemable at any restaurant within the resort. Drinks – including coffee, tea, water, soft-drinks, wine, beer or any alcoholic beverages – as well as bread service, are not included within the half board or full board credits.

On New Year’s Eve, dinner is replaced by an inclusive gala celebration under the stars at the Lagoon Pool, with live cooking stations and themed bars serving premium wines, champagnes and cocktails. Plus, enjoy live entertainment throughout the evening. The night begins with welcome cocktails and canapes in the lobby at 19:00, before moving to the Lagoon Pool, where pre-assigned seating is provided. Please note that this experience is included in all board bases, with automatic reservations made when booking your stay.

There is a casual dress code at most daytime restaurants and bars. El Mirador, Verona and Txoko have a casual elegant dress code, while the two Michelin star restaurants – M.B. – have a formal elegant dress code.

Please note, twin rooms are only available on a request basis and are located in the Citadel building.

From 31 May to 31 July 2026, the Lagoon Pool will undergo renovations. During this period the Persian Garden Pool will operate as adults only and the Serenity Pool and Palmera Pool (in the Retreat area) will remain open for families.
