In the heart of the hotel, a pale-blue pool shimmers beneath the sun. Its shallow entrance and wide steps invite long, unhurried dips. It’s surrounded by sun loungers topped with matching blue towels and shaded by towering palms – which line the tropical gardens beyond. Wander the walkways and you’ll spot olive and bitter orange trees, too, a favourite perch for local birds. On the ground floor, gardens are spotted with tiled courtyards and flowing fountains. Up on the rooftop, a partly shaded terrace offers a sanctuary of plush sofas, loungers and skyline views from the shade of a curtain-cornered, painted pergola.

The spa on the second floor, promises pampering treatments for the face and body, plus an in-house barber. For a deeper reset, the four-day Marrakchie Discovery package layers hammams, black-soap scrubs, ghassoul body masks, and argan- and verbena-infused face masks with personalised massages and nourishing hand and feet rituals using soothing sea salts and essential oils.

Open all day, the hotel’s restaurant transforms into a bar during the evening. It’s found in the former reception room of the riad, under carved cedar ceilings, opening out to the garden and pool terrace. Start your day with an indoor and outdoor buffet, followed by a delicious light lunch served in the centuries-old garden – now shaded and lightly misted to keep things cool. In the evenings, the menu shifts to something more seasonal, with tagines and herb-crusted lamb from the Atlas Mountains, paired with fine French and Moroccan wines. On Thursdays, you’ll find live music to accompany your dinner, and a magician brings a little theatre to dinner on ‘Magic Sundays.’

Poolside, a casual bar nook with tall stools invites you to linger over signature sips in the afternoon sunshine.
