Hotel Riu Palace Paradise Island is situated on a prime stretch of Cabbage Beach with a mile-long strip of white sand and turquoise seas. Paradise Island lies across the Sidney Poitier Bridge from the country’s capital Nassau, with its popular colonial architecture, 18th Century forts, botanical gardens and Pirates of Nassau museum. The hotel is also just a five-minute walk from Atlantis, the island’s flagship resort, with its casino, extensive nightly entertainments and water park. There’s a small cluster of shops five minutes' drive away. You can go scuba diving and snorkelling around the School House coral reef, or hire a jet ski on Cabbage Beach and visit charming local coves. Lynden Pindling International Airport is about 13 miles away.
This 14-storey hotel’s design is bold, brash and a little mishmash. You’ll find everything from art deco to pop art inside, with high ceilings and statement lighting throughout. Some spaces feel a little dated, but rooms are big, breezy and come with all the essentials – including minibars, beverage dispensers, air conditioning and coffee machines.
