An array of facilities are available for all ages and interests here, from eight pools – with one exclusively for children, as well as extensive gardens and sun loungers to enjoy the sunshine or shade. Or, take the panoramic lift directly to the beach for a full-service water sports centre and beach club.

The resort’s Porto Pirata children’s club – the largest in the region – offers a children’s village for ages 6 months to 12 years – with activities supervised by qualified and experienced staff. There is a playground filled with two life-size wooden pirate ships, sports, a bouncy castle, basketball court, mini track for big-wheel toys, scooters and bikes, a swimming pool just for kids and a mini-golf course. For those aged 8 to 12, the Junior Club provides a varied, weekly programme to keep the little ones occupied, with supervised fun activities such as football, crossbow, darts and tennis in the summer months.

Serenity Spa offers 1100 m2 of space dedicated to wellness, which includes a luxe water circuit, featuring a herbal and salt sauna, an ice fountain, a large indoor pool and a hydro pool. Treatments range from ayurvedic practices to scalp treatments and even fitness consultations. The resort’s signature treatment uses fleur-de-sel from Ria Formosa, sand from Falésia Beach and carob and orange oil. You’ll find a modern fitness centre here too, with plenty of cardio equipment, weights and group classes available.

The actively inclined will also love the chance to improve their game at the Annabel Croft Tennis Academy. Golfing enthusiasts are well catered for, too, as a stunning cliff-edge nine-hole course gives you the chance to tee off with an impressive backdrop.

You are spoiled for choice when it comes to eating and drinking, with a selection of seasonal seafood restaurants, grills and bars to choose from across the resort. Start the day with a buffet breakfast at Jardim Colonial or O Grill, in high season. Try the 'al fresco' signature daily offering from the ocean at O Pescador or head to Maré at Pine Cliffs for local dishes paired with fun cocktails and sangrias. For something a little lighter stay poolside and have a quick bite at the Corda Café, or grab and go with healthy choices and fresh homemade juices from Zest. If you’re on the fairways, stop at the first hole and visit the Clubhouse for snacks and sandwiches. Yakuza Algarve by Olivier is one of the best Japanese eateries in the area, with a touch of Mediterranean influence. While Piri Piri Steak House offers something quite unique in the Algarve, serving prime meats from around the world. Try a local spirit or a glass of Port at Portulano Lobby Bar or drink in the stunning coastal views at Mirador Champagne Bar. By day MIMO Algarve is a relaxed espresso bar and gourmet shop, and doubles as a cooking school; by night indulge in wine tasting or a gastronomic experience from the special Chef’s Table menu.

The half board package includes a buffet breakfast in Jardim Colonial or O Grill, and buffet dinner. A set three course dinner menu can be used in the a la carte restaurants when the buffet restaurant is unavailable (due to seasonality); children choose from a kids’ menu. If you wish to dine a la carte you’ll have a dinner credit towards food. Drinks are not included and half board is not available at Yakuza or in room dining. Children under 4 are free in the same meal plan as parents and children over 13 are considered adults. The same meal plan is required for all room occupants for the duration of your stay. The hotel reserves the right to amend the plan without notice.
