e-ticket

The ticket you can’t lose

Imagine not having to worry about forgetting or losing your ticket ever again. Now you can, because we’ve introduced ‘e-ticket’ as the standard for British Airways, with paper tickets being phased out completely in the near future.

Don’t worry, we give you an e-ticket receipt when you make your booking, which has all your booking details on it.

What’s different about e-ticket?
  • We securely store all your ticket details electronically in our booking system.
  • We give you a unique six digit reference number to access your booking.
The benefits are clear
  • An easy and simple to read e-ticket receipt.
  • There is no need to wait for a paper ticket to arrive in the post. However, if you book on the phone, and don’t have an email address, you will be sent an e-ticket receipt by post.
  • You receive your email e-ticket straight away when you book on ba.com in most countries*.
  • An e-ticket cannot be lost, forgotten or stolen.
  • An e-ticket allows you to amend your flight details up to 30 minutes* before minimum check in times, subject to the normal fare restrictions.
  • Ticket changes* can be made online through Manage My Booking, or over the telephone and there’s no need to re-issue a paper ticket.
  • Check in procedures are simple and quick. With e-ticket you can use check in at ba.com or an airport check in kiosk, where available.
  • You can manage your booking online at any time and email your itinerary to friends and family or print it off.

*There are some exceptions in certain countries ie. where payment must be made in person.
