Welcome to Nashville. The toast of Tennessee is famous for its music. Even today, the Grand Ole Opry country music show still serenades visitors every week.
With five flights a week from London to Nashville, what are you waiting for? If you book flights and hotels together you’ll save with our package holidays. In the friendly city centre, every honky-tonk you pass will have its own mini music scene. But ‘Music City’ is far more than a music museum (though it has plenty of those). East Nashville is now a hipster quarter – flick through vinyls with one hand, holding a hot dog in the other. There’s massive portions of barbecue food for the hungry – and you just have to try the hot chicken. Read our Nashville travel guides to see what’s on the menu.
Hunting down the Parthenon in Centennial Park or taking a tipsy whiskey tour of Jack Daniel’s distillery, on Nashville holidays there are plenty of places to strut your stuff.

Nashville is a city for all budgets – the students and hipsters keep its cuisine cheap and there are plenty of free things to do but you can still find fantastic luxury hotels and world-class performances if you’ve got dollars to spare. Some things, like standing on the stage of the Ryman Auditorium, hearing live bluegrass, or seeing where Elvis recorded Heartbreak Hotel, you can’t even put a price on.
So many tunes, so little time, from East Nashville to Music Row this city needs a couple of days – and some wild nights – to make its introduction. Luckily our guide to holidays in Nashville will help you plan a trip to remember.
Stay in the centre of the action in Downton Nashville, which straddles the Cumberland river. Here is the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Hatch Show Print next door. There’s also an important Ryman Auditorium, a venue for the Grand Ole Opry, the weekly country music show. There are plenty of hotels in this area. Once you’ve danced through Downtown, discover the rest of Nashville. Hopeful musicians still make pilgrimages to Music Row. There’s a wax museum of country music stars opening in 2017 and RCA Studio B, where Elvis recorded much of his music.
Between Music Row and Downtown you have the Gulch. Once an industrial heartland, visit the brewery taprooms in the area, one of the largest is the Yazoo Brewing Company. There are plenty of hotels in the Opryland area, just above the airport. The original Grand Ole Opry is here, set in an attractive building with a barn-themed stage. There is a new out of town shopping district, Opry Mills and Gaylord Opryland Resort nearby. Lying West of Downtown, in the centre of West End, you’ll find pretty Centennial Park. And in East Nashville and around 12 South, you’ll find vinyl shops, tattoo parlours and people sporting excellent street style.
