This form is for all British Airways and OpenSkies customers to claim for bags which you have already told us are missing.

It cannot be used to notify us of missing bags for the first time.

Please complete the following details of your baggage claim. Once complete, an email will be sent to our Customer Relations Department, who will be in contact with you in due course.

Please note: depending on the complexity, amount being claimed, and the time of year, it will take between two and eight weeks to process your claim.

You should send all receipts and supporting documents to British Airways Customer Relations as soon as you have submitted this claim form.

The personal data (including any sensitive personal as defined in the Data Protection Act) will be retained on our database for the purposes of ensuring we improve the service to you and your company. Your personal data will be used for us to communicate with you and contact you to address any comments you might have (using any means of communication for which you have provided contact details, which may include post, email, fax and telephone). As with any standard email, our response will be sent in non-encrypted format.

2.  In the event of a third-party being liable for the loss, all rights in this matter are subrogated to British Airways on settlement of this claim.

WE HAVE A LIMITED LIABILITY RELATING TO CLAIMS FOR CHECKED BAGGAGE. Our liability is based on the Montreal Convention. The applicable limits of liability in the case of destruction, loss of, or damage or delay to baggage on a flight operated by British Airways or a European Union British Airways franchise carrier is 1,131 Special Drawing Rights (approximately GBP 1100 or EUR 1,320, or USD 1,625). In line with other airlines, we cannot accept claims for damage or loss to items in checked baggage which are fragile, perishable or of special value.
