Sitting at the very front of the St Tropez bay, Kube Hotel’s white walls, glossed with glass, shimmer a sugar-cubed minimalism that’s Miami cool. This boutique hotel embodies St Tropez’s party spirit, with two bars, stylish rooms and three wow-factor pools. The hotel has sprawling grounds to explore, up in the hills near the jasmine-scented mediaeval village of Gassin.

Also need to know:
Pets can stay for €40 a day and there are outdoor smoking areas. The hotel has a meeting room that can accommodate up to 80 people. There's also a monitored, underground car park with 68 spaces. Kube runs free shuttles to and from downtown St Tropez. The hotel is split into two 'sides': KØØL and KLUB. The former is more modern and edgy, the latter has a more chilled-out feel to it. There's not much to separate the two, except the rooms, which are subtly different in design.

Pucci, Gucci, Lady Ga-Ga (if you must) – Kube can take whatever your wardrobe can throw at it; Mr Smith should think sharp-suit-no-tie Clooney in Ocean’s Eleven.
Mr and Mrs Smith reviews
Mr & Mrs Smith have just returned from a review trip to this St Tropez boutique hotel, and just as soon as they’ve unpacked their deck shoes and diamonds, a full account of their stay in France will be with you. In the meantime, just to whet your wanderlust, here’s a quick postcard from Kube…
Overlooking the yacht-speckled bay of St Tropez, Kube’s location alone earns it glamour points. Like its Parisian cousin, this Mediterranean Kube takes all the luxuries you’d expect from a boutique hotel and parcels them up in sleek, minimalist architecture. This 2009-built bolthole is consistently sleek, chic and devoid of fuss – its furniture, landscaping and even its light fittings are ruler-straight proof that square can be hip.
A super-long swimming pool, choice of two bars, extensive palm tree-dotted grounds and a modern French restaurant make Kube feel more like a resort than mere hotel. A free shuttle bus is incentive to roll off your sunlounger and head into St Tropez itself. But, should you feel the need to hire a car and explore the coastline, Port Grimaud and Sainte Maxime beckon from across the bay.
The hotel helipad sets the tone at this exclusive retreat where relaxation is de rigeur and tanning is still in fashion. Whether it’s the served-till-1pm breakfast, the open-all-day martini bar or the daily DJ sets in the rooftop Skybar, you’ll find ample justification for labelling Kube a fabulous party pad.
