The Philippos enjoys an excellent location in the heart of the old city. The area around the hotel is one of the most peaceful and quiet spots in Athens and yet it takes just 15 minutes or so to walk to the central square of Syntagma and the Parliament building.
The hotel is also close to several tavernas, the Acropolis, the Acropolis Museum and the popular ancient theatre, Herodus Atticus. A metro station and tram station are both just a few steps away. And one stop on the tram will take you straight into the centre of the city's main shopping area.
This family run hotel offers excellent value for money. It has a welcoming feel and contemporary decor. Some of the rooms have balconies, but for the best views of the Acropolis at sunset, the rooftop terrace is a must.
Breakfast is served in the coffee shop. For lunch and dinner, you could either sample one of the city's many excellent tavernas, or dine at Philippos's sister hotel, Herodion. This is just a short walk away and has a lovely restaurant and atrium-located coffee shop.
