Overview

Once an 18th Century sugar plantation where Admiral Lord Nelson was married, this chic boutique retreat is nestled in Nevis' lush hills 750 feet above the Caribbean Sea in the foothills of Nevis Peak. This retreat has just 19 gorgeous guest rooms set in 60 acres of tropical lush gardens and has access to its own private beach.

The hotel is designed as a place to let the rest of the world slip away using a holistic approach which allows one to savour the joy of healthy living through good food, fine wine and wellness that is both active and relaxing.

Family owned and managed, Montpelier Plantation & Beach is considered to be one of the finest small luxury hotels in the Caribbean. Service levels surpass all expectations with a staff to guest ratio of at least two to one.

The exquisite rooms are designed with a light touch and sense of intimacy. Where possible the best use of open spaces has been made.

The hotels has a private beach club - or Montpelier by the sea as it is known - which is located at Pinneys beach with sun shades, private beach gazebos and a beach deck and bar. Enjoy barbecue lunches and games of cricket between the staff and guests.

Dining information

Pride is taken when it comes to cuisine at Montpelier. Between the three restaurants available, it offers a blend of French and Caribbean cuisine with emphasis on fresh, innovative food. The kitchen focuses on the quality of the ingredients using organic local fruits, vegetables, poultry and fish wherever possible.

Choose from Indigo’s which embodies easy-going island dining serving lunch and dinner around the pool. The sharing platters, molecular cocktails and fine wine and Champagne set the tone of the lounge bar.

Restaurant 750 offers a stylish ambiance in the evenings where drinks and canapés are served in The Great Room, before dining on the terrace with captivating views of Nevis. And finally, Montpelier’s 300 year-old sugar mill, Mill Privée. This truly unique Nevis restaurant hosts tasting dinners with a wine pairing carefully hand picked by Montpelier’s own sommelier.
