What happens if I don't choose my seats now?

  • If you choose your seats now you will get the widest choice of seats at the best price.
  • If you skip this step, you will be able to choose your seats later in Manage My Booking for a higher price. Closer to departure, the selection may be limited and groups may not be able to sit together.
  • Some customers will be able to choose their seats for free now or closer to departure, depending on their circumstances.

On hand baggage only fares, a seat will be allocated

On hand baggage only fares, if you don't pay to choose your seats in advance, we will allocate you a seat at check-in, from 24 hours before departure. You will be able to pay to change your allocated seat during check-in, but the selection will be limited.

On other fares, you can choose your seat for free

On any fare that includes a checked baggage allowance, you will be able to choose your seat for free from the remaining selection from 24 hours before departure, when online check-in opens. Some fares may allow you to choose your seats earlier than this.

Executive Club Members and oneworld frequent flyers

Members of our frequent flyer programme are able to choose their seats for free at the following points:

  • Executive Club Gold and Silver Members and oneworld equivalent members - from the time of booking
  • Executive Club Bronze Members - from seven days before departure
  • Executive Club Blue Members - from 24 hours before departure (except on hand-baggage only fares)

Travelling with children

If you are travelling with children (aged 2-11 years) we will allocate you seats a few days before departure, unless you have already paid to reserve them. We aim to seat families together, however where this is not possible, children will at least be seated with one adult in the same booking.

If you are travelling with an infant (under two years), you will be able to choose your seats for free from the time of booking.

Seating if you have a disability

If you have a specific seating requirement because of your disability, there's no charge for reserving your seat. To make arrangements, complete your booking and then tell us about your assistance needs in Manage My Booking. In most cases, you will then be able to choose your seat but sometimes you may need to contact us, e.g. for some types of developmental impairments.
