Terms and Conditions
  1. This prize draw is only open to Eligible Participants. An Eligible Participant is a Member of the British Airways Executive Club (“BAEC”), is aged 18 years or over and is resident in the UK, excluding residents of Channel Islands and Northern Ireland, and is not an employee of Avios Group Limited (AGL), British Airways PLC (BA) or Laithwaites Limited (Laithwaites).
  2. All Eligible Participants that purchase one of the special edition cases of wine through British Airways’ Wine Explorer in association with Laithwaites between 00.01 GMT on 15 October 2018 and 23.59 GMT 9 December 2018 will receive an automatic entry into the prize draw. Special edition wine cases are subject to availability.
  3. The prize consists of two return economy (World Traveller) tickets from London Heathrow to Durban, South Africa. The prizes are valid for travel, 1 March 2019 to 30 November 2019 and are subject to availability at the time of booking. Blackout periods apply. All travel must be completed by 30 November 2019.
  4. The travel companion must be aged 18 or over. These Terms and Conditions apply to both the winner and the companion. Both tickets must be redeemed at the same time and cannot be split. Tickets must be used on the same journey, on the same day and the same flights.
  5. Flights are subject to availability and capacity control and must be booked at least 30 working days in advance. British Airways reserves the right to limit the number of prize travel seats available on any flight. It is possible that there will be no prize travel seats allocated on a particular service or the flight may be fully booked for prize travel seats, even though other seats are still available in the same cabin. British Airways does not accept any responsibility in the event that the winner is unable to book their preferred flight(s).
  6. Winner/s may only choose from British Airways operated-flights. Travel on British Airways franchise, code-share and alliance airlines, domestic connections, transfers and other add-ons are not included. Once booked, no changes can be made to tickets.
  7. Where available, all prize flights will be issued as e-tickets. All transportation taxes, fees and charges are included. Tickets cannot be upgraded, transferred, sold or exchanged.
  8. The winner and his/her travelling companion are responsible for supplying valid passports and visas and obtaining inoculations that may be required to visit the destination that is their prize. British Airways recommends that all passengers consider travel and medical insurance prior to commencing any flight.
  9. Any other incidental expenses are not included in the above prize and must be paid for by the winner. For the avoidance of doubt, British Airways will have no liability in relation to travel costs associated with travelling to or from the airports or to the hotel, or accommodation costs. In addition, the winner is responsible for any income or tax assessed in connection with the prize.
  10. Prize flights are non-changeable and non-transferable.
  11. At the completion of the prize draw, one winner from those Eligible Participants will be selected at random under independent supervision and in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. If any prize remains unclaimed after 15 February 2019 or is declined by the winner, a supplementary winner may be drawn at British Airways’ discretion and will be notified via email/telephone. British Airways’ decision will be final and not subject to appeal and no correspondence will be entered into.
  12. In the event that any entries are received from people who are not Eligible Participants, they will not be entered into the draw and no prizes shall be awarded to these people. If you are not a member of the BAEC then you can join for free on ba.com/jointheclub prior to ordering.
  13. The draw will take place on or before 9 January 2019 and the winners will be notified by email to the email address associated with their BAEC account on or before 16 January 2019.
  14. British Airways accept no responsibility for damage or loss resulting from misdirected or incomplete entries arising from the Eligible Participant’s error, computer malfunction, viruses, bugs or telephone malfunction or other such causes.
  15. The prizes are as stated and no cash or other alternative will be offered.
  16. British Airways reserves the right to provide substitute prizes of a similar value, should any of the specified prizes become unavailable for any reasons beyond its control.
  17. British Airways is in no way liable for the reproduction of or indirect access to this information (via third party web sites or home page access) or where any reproduction of the information relating to this prize draw misstates or omits any of the information or Terms and Conditions connected with the prize draw.
  18. Personal data will be taken where necessary from all entries received but shall be limited to those details reasonably necessary for the administration of the prize draw.
  19. Where imposing such condition is legal, participation in the prize draw constitutes the winner’s consent to British Airways and its agents’ use of winner’s name, likeness, photograph, voice, opinions and/or hometown and county, for promotional purposes in any media, worldwide, without further payment or consideration.
  20. Information collected from Eligible Participants and where applicable, their guests, shall be subject to British Airways’ Privacy Policy.
  21. The winners’ name can be obtained by sending a stamped addressed envelope, to Wine Explorer at British Airways, Waterside (HBB1), PO Box 365, Harmondsworth, UB7 0GB.
  22. British Airways reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel or amend without notice the terms of this promotion in the event of major catastrophe, war, strike, earthquake or any actual or anticipated or alleged breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other circumstance beyond British Airways’ control.
  23. British Airways reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify or terminate any prize won by any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the prize draw or the operation of the event, or to be acting in violation of these Terms and Conditions or any promotion related to the event. Any attempt by any person to deliberately undermine the legitimate operation of the prize draw may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and, should such an attempt be made, British Airways reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law.
  24. British Airways’ failure to enforce any term of these Terms and Conditions shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.
  25. Except as otherwise expressly set out in these Terms and Conditions, British Airways and its affiliates shall not be liable or responsible for any failure to perform, or delay in performance of, any of their respective obligations that are caused by events outside of their reasonable control. British Airways’ total liability for all claims arising out of or in connection with an entry into the prize draw by an Eligible Participant shall be limited to the value of the prizes won by the Eligible Participant. British Airways and its affiliates shall not be liable under or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or otherwise in relation to the prize draw for any special, indirect or consequential losses incurred by an Eligible Participant. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall operate to exclude or limit British Airways’ or its affiliates’ liability for death or personal injury resulting from British Airways’ or its affiliates’ negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation or for any other liability which may not be excluded or limited by law.
  26. These Terms and Conditions apply to every person entering the prize draw with no exceptions.
  27. If any of these Terms and Conditions is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remainder of these Terms and Conditions shall remain valid and enforceable.
  28. Promotional materials form part of these Terms and Conditions. These Terms and Conditions will prevail in the event of any conflict between these and the promotional materials.
  29. This prize draw is governed by English law and is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
