Tampa International Airport is 10km west of downtown Tampa. You can drive to Walt Disney World Resort from Tampa Airport in just under an hour and a half, depending on the traffic. It takes only two hours to reach Universal Orlando Resort. You can drive this area of the Gulf Coast in a day since the region is just over 200 miles long. However, you’ll want to spend longer than that on its beaches – they’re perfect. Pick up a hire car, in partnership with Avis, and start exploring. There’s no need to get a visa in advance – if you’re travelling to Tampa on a British passport. However, you do need to apply for an ESTA. You should get your ESTA at least 72 hours before you travel, and it will cost $14. An ESTA is valid for multiple journeys. You can use it for two years, or until your passport expires.
