Set amongst the Sierra Nevada mountains in Andalusia, you will find Europe’s southernmost ski resort. High above sea level at 2100-metres, the Pradolano resort sits beneath Pico del Veleta (3298m), also one of the highest skiable European peaks.
While not considered a huge resort, there are still 105km of pistes, from greens to blacks – with stunning views down to Granada. With Andalusia offering a very high proportion of sunny days, astounding weather is guaranteed throughout the season. But don’t worry the introduction of snow machines means that glorious weather will not affect the slopes. Being so close to the Mediterranean means skiing in the morning, before heading to the coast, or nearby Granada, in the afternoon. Enjoy the best of both worlds in this Spanish ski resort.
Sierra Nevada is 54 kilometres (Approximately 50 minutes) from Granada Airport.
Sierra Nevada offers some of the best bluebird skiing in Europe, and clear skies makes for easier skiing. There are 18 green runs, and 42 blue, so it is great for beginners and those who have limited skiing experience. The transition from green to blue should be an easy process here. There are three ski lifts giving access to three of the best beginner slopes in the area: Borregiles I, Emille Allais and Veleta II.
