Andorra is home to several excellent and varied resorts. It has been extremely popular with skiers for decades and with good reason – a great snow record, its own unique style and a wealth of attractions make Andorra a fantastic proposition.

Ski in Andorra and enjoy plenty of gentle slopes, excellent tax-free shopping and diverse après ski. We have hotels close to Soldeu, Pas de la Casa and Arinsal – Andorra’s three main resorts. The modern lift system makes it easy to explore the slopes from these resorts. Andorra is also a great destination for families, with excellent ski schools on offer. Off the slopes, all the main ski towns have a fantastic après ski atmosphere. Friendly, laid back restaurants welcome families, while lively bars and clubs ensure you can ski all day and party into the night. Skiing for beginners in Andorra

The resorts of Pas de la Casa and Arinsal are best for beginners, as these two are home to great ski schools. Start on the easy nursery slopes and progress onto the gentle, long runs.

Arinsal

Arinsal is a brilliant place for beginners, with wide tree-lined, uncluttered slopes. And while it may only have a few green runs, it also has one of the best ski schools in Europe. Connected to Pal via cable car, or Arcalis by bus, intermediates and advanced skiers will find the more difficult runs of the Vallnord ski area. There is a great après ski scene in Arinsal, and due to Andorra’s tax free status you can get a lot more for you money.

Pas de la Casa

Close to the French border, Pas de Casa is known locally simply as Pas. Being so close to France has definitely given Pas a Gallic flair, whilst keeping Andorra’s charm. High up in the mountains at 2150m, this is one of Europe’s highest resorts, and the highest in the Pyrenees. It has great links to Soldeu and El Tarter, and the off-piste opportunities are becoming a big draw for snowboarders and advanced skiers. Add to that a busy après ski scene and you have a resort worth visiting again and again.

Soldeu

Since 2004, Soldeu has been part of the Grandvalira super-ski area, alongside Pas de la Casa and El Tarter. This ski area is huge, taking up most of the north-eastern terrain of Andorra, with a superb system of lifts and gondolas connecting the resorts. The ski area boasts some brilliant opportunities for beginners and intermediates, and has a British-run ski school for those who wish to have lessons. Soldeu itself sits in a tree-lined valley, great for après ski with some good restaurants and the amiable Andorran hospitality you would expect.

El Tarter

El Tarter is just one mile down the road from Soldeu, a little quieter for après ski and late nights but still a lot of fun. It is great for skiing and snowboarding though, with easy gondola access to the massive Grandvalira ski area. Connected directly to the beginners’ slopes, this is a good resort for newcomers to snow sports, but also for more advanced skiers too. With its reputation for snow-sure conditions, advanced skiers will find some superb off-piste opportunities and some fantastic black runs too.
