For a getaway where the city meets the beach, look no further. Our regular flights to Nice will transport you to the sparkling French Riviera – where Nice is neighboured by the iconic resorts of Cannes, Monaco and St Tropez.
A destination with a timeless appeal and an abundance of things to do, vacations in Nice effortlessly blend captivating culture and glorious Mediterranean sunshine. Enjoy fantastic shopping along Rue de France or get lost in the lanes of the Old Town - you’ll love charming Cours Saleya, with its colourful flower markets. Walk up Castle Hill for spectacular views over the city and Bay of Angels. Or simply stop and take it all in from the flawless Promenade des Anglais. Within easy reach of London, city breaks in Nice provide the perfect weekend getaway. If you’re planning a longer trip, make sure you hire a car and take a scenic drive along the stunning Cote d’Azure to Monaco or Cannes.
Minutes from Place Massena, the stylish Boscolo Exedra offers contemporary luxury and a fabulous spa. The futuristic bar, à la page restaurant and avant-garde meeting area are the perfect spots for ...
After breakfast take a morning stroll along the famous Promenade des Anglais – spanning the whole length of the city. Great for people watching and taking in the atmosphere of the Cote d'Azur! If you want to treat yourself, visit the private beach areas which have parasols and sunloungers, so you can sunbathe in a bit of comfort & luxury!
Experience the traditional and local charm of the Old Town. Here you can find Cours Saleya – where the morning market takes place before turning into a great area for dining later in the day. This is also a great area for shopping, particularly if you're looking for a keepsake of Nice.
Two of my favourite museums are Musee Massena – one of the main sights along the Promenade des Anglais, and Musee Matisse – located in a renovated Geonese villa set in the Cimiez Gardens.
The exhibition at Musee Massena gives you a fanstastic insight into the history of Nice through its collections of furniture, decorations and artworks. And a visit to Musee Matisse feels like you’ve been let into a family secret. The collection of works were left by the artist (and his heirs) to the city of Nice, where he lived from 1918 until 1954.
The Parc du Chateau sits over Vieux Nice at a height of 92m. If you’re feeling energetic walk up to Castle Hill, otherwise I recommend riding the elevator or taking the tourist train up there to save some energy. As soon as you get to the top get your camera out and start taking panoramic pictures to remember your trip by. Reward yourself with an ice-cream while taking in the views. There is a little park great for children up there as well.
Nice is awash with plenty of restaurants and bars. Old Nice is a great spot for dinner, or you can find lots of places to eat in and around Place Massena. The beachfront restaurants are lovely to relax in and watch the sunset over the Bay of Angels!
Hire a deckchair and relax on the famous, pebbly Nice seafront. Head to one of the buzzing bars and restaurants along the Promenade des Anglais on lively beach vacations. Less than 20 miles from Nice are sandy bays ideal for families, or beaches with exhilarating water sports available for the more adventurous. A coastal walk will uncover more secluded spots with narrow coves to the east and west of Nice.
Nice is a perfect destination for a city break, with regular short flights from the UK. It enjoys great transport links for exploring the French Riviera. Walk around the Promenade des Anglais, or head up to Le Château and enjoy panoramic views. Immerse yourself in culture at the many museums and galleries. Relax after a morning’s sightseeing in a deck chair on the pebbly beach. In the evening, soak up the atmosphere in the old town’s trendy bars and restaurants.
Our Nice car hire is a great way to see everything that the French Riviera has to offer. Visit Cannes, with its trendy nightlife. Or head up to glamorous Monaco to do some celebrity-spotting and enjoy the luxurious casinos or extravagant shopping. Drive the same streets as Formula One drivers at Monaco’s famous Grand Prix circuit. Travel to quieter Antibes for sandy beaches and its famous Picasso museum. Admire the superb works at the Nice Museum of Modern Art.
Nice is a great place for cultural exploring, with free entry at many museums making it perfect for cheap holidays. Discover the Museum of Modern Art in the heart of the city, or visit the Musée Matisse, set in a lovely villa. Explore the remarkable Roman ruins in Ciminez. Book tickets for a concert or take in a show. Wander around Old Nice, which oozes tradition and hosts the famous Cours Saleya flower market.
Take your children to sandy beaches with calm waters, just a short drive from the city, on family vacations in Nice. Little ones will love Aqua Splash, a family-friendly water park just 10 miles west of the city.
