Every hotel is visited personally by members of our team and given the Smith seal of approval. As soon as our anonymous reviewers have returned from this boutique hotel in Colorado and unpacked their Moncler jackets and tins of hot chocolate, a full account of their mountain escape will be with you. In the meantime, to whet your wanderlust, here's a quick peek inside the Sebastian – Vail…
Skiing may be hard work, but it sure doesn’t feel that way at the Sebastian – Vail.
Set in the heart of Vail Village, the hotel has mastered chalet-chic, creating open, airy spaces with warm, inviting accents. Admire the great outdoors from inside the ultimate ski lodge with a perch in the bright, art-filled stone lobby, which centres around a crackling Jenga-style stacked log fireplace. One-upping classic campfire fare, hotel restaurant Leonora serves tapas, flatbreads and locally sourced meats with a 1,000-bottle wine selection. To round out the experience, the hotel has a well-stocked library (perfect for settling in with a scotch), a year-round heated outdoor pool with four hot tubs and a first-rate spa for down time.
When it’s time to hit the mountain, the Sebastian – Vail has Base Camp, a team at the foot of the mountain ready to provide warm, fitted ski equipment – or mountain bikes in summer – a few steps from the gondola.
Hitting the slopes has never been so easy.

Informações sobre restauração
A 1,000-bottle wine tower is like a merlot mountain at the centre of Leonora, the Sebastian’s main restaurant and tapas bar. One of the region’s best dining options, Leonora serves a continental mix of dishes, including crudo, flatbreads, tapas and warming entrees like lamb cassoulet, wood-roasted mussels and braised veal cheeks, and the sommelier’s extensive list has been crafted to perfectly pair with the international flavours.
Snag a table on the patio for cocktail hour in the warm summer months. In the winter, request an intimate round booth near the wine tower.
Hours change seasonally, but Frost bar is typically open from 12 noon to 11pm; Breakfast is served on the Upper Lobby Level from 7am to 11am, and Leonora serves dinner from 5.30 to 10pm.
Both Frost and Leonora can provide food from their full menus during typical dining hours; a limited menu of sandwiches, salads and entrees is available 24 hours day.
Decorated with icicles, smoky blue lighting and dark wood, the wintery Frost bar takes full advantage of its location, pouring excellent Scotch, local microbrews and craft cocktails. Light lunches are served here too.
