Le Meridien Ile Maurice is bordered by tropical gardens, on an idyllic stretch of beach. It’s got four restaurants – two nestled along the coastline, and two pools overlooking the ocean. The resort is perfect for families, providing rooms with an extra sleeping area for children, as well as a kids’ club and a child-friendly slice of beachfront. The resort is sat on a kilometre-long sandy beach on Mauritius’ north coast. The island’s capital of Port Louis is around ten miles south of the resort and Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Garden, regarded as one of the world’s best, is seven miles away. Perched on the edge of the resort’s stretch of sand, the palm-lined main pool is surrounded by sun loungers and thatched umbrellas. There’s a second pool by the pine garden, which has an overwater swing and hammock, as well as the adult-only Nirvana pool with sunken bubble seats, accessible exclusively to those staying in the Nirvana wing. On the beach, you’ve a variety of water sport activities to choose from, including wind surfing, pedal boats, kayaks, glass-bottom boat trips and PADI-certified diving.
For guests aged 4 to 12, a kids’ club provides a colourful indoor playroom and entertainment including sandcastle building, Sega dancing and face painting – and there’s a dedicated section of the beach for young guests, too.
Focussing on ayurvedic practises, the Explore Spa by Le Meridien offers a holistic approach to self-care, with a menu of treatments, yoga facilities, a relaxation garden and the ‘energy bathing’ space, which has a sauna, Jacuzzi and plunge pool. Fitness facilities include cardio equipment and weights.

Zoli Mamzel offers Mediterranean fare with a Mauritian twist, facing the ocean, and for dinner, choose Kumin for poolside Indian cuisine.
