Overview
JW Marriott Venice Resort and Spa is a beautiful five-star retreat, situated on its very own private island, just across from Venice, Italy. Only accessible via boat, the resort unfolds across verdant grounds. Expect spacious rooms, curated experiences and inspired dining in four on-site restaurants. Plus, there's a stunning spa and a stylish rooftop pool that looks out across the lagoon to the spires of St Mark's.
JW Marriott Venice Resort and Spa is located on Isola delle Rose, a private island filled with lush greenery that stretches out towards the lagoon. The island’s 16 hectares of private park are interwoven with paths, canals and olive groves, where you can certainly find tranquillity from the crowds on the main island of Venice. A complimentary 15-minute water shuttle service will take you from the resort to St Mark’s Square, which connects to the charming, historical lanes and bridges. Rialto Bridge and the Grand Canal are also walkable from St Mark’s Square, or you can jump on a vaporetto water bus. Venice Marco Polo Airport is a 50-minute water taxi ride away from St Mark's Square; otherwise, the hotel can arrange a private shuttle at a fee. Arriving at the resort by the hotel’s private boat, with Piazza San Marco as your backdrop, is a unique experience.
Spacious rooms and suites are located either in the main building (JW Hotel) or around the grounds, surrounded by greenery (JW Retreats). Contemporary in style with pops of green, entry-level Deluxe Rooms feature monochrome photography and big desks. Many have an outdoor terrace just beyond a set of glass doors. If you are looking for more space, upgrade to a Junior Suite which benefits from an entrance, a wardrobe area, a bathroom with bathtub and separate shower, a wide bedroom and a living area. All Junior Suites also offer a private balcony or terrace, which overlooks the resort’s gardens.

Families can play in the pool with interactive water fountains or enjoy the adventure park and playground. A kids’ club is available upon request, where little ones can play volleyball, try Venetian mask making or Viva la Pizza cooking lessons.
There’s a fully equipped gym with Technogym equipment, and classes in yoga and meditation are held in the gardens or on the decks. Rally, practice or train with a pro on one of two sleek padel courts. Sessions are available for all skill levels and personalised coaching is available on request. There's a Bocce field, too. If you're wanting to venture beyond the resort, the concierge team can assist with trips to Murano glass factories and Burano lace makers, and a complimentary shuttle service runs to St Mark’s Square every 30 minutes.
Back on-site, the resort's serene spa sits within an expansive pitched-roof structure, framing wide-open views of the Venetian skyline. The heated vitality pool here flows seamlessly from indoors to out, through a moveable glass wall. You'll also find a bio-sauna, hammam and elegant treatment rooms offering everything from Maria Galland facials to full-body therapies. For an added layer of indulgence, the exclusive Hair Spa specialises in tailored scalp and hair rituals designed to restore and revive.
Dining information
The resort features four on-site restaurants around the island, two bars and a Venetian deli for quick refreshments at the counter. The deli is a great place to purchase some take-home treats.
You can eat breakfast inside or on the outdoor terrace at Cucina. Close to the family pool, shaded by trees and shrubs, you’ll find the informal Giardino Restaurant. Or you can lunch on the park lawn with the Chic-nic service, which provides a packed lunch and a rug.
However, the stunning rooftop restaurant and bar, Sagra, is the jewel in the crown. It’s located on the fourth floor, offering panoramic views over the lagoon, stretching as far as San Marco church. Tempting lunchtime dishes include zesty salads, primi pastas, fish from Rialto market and homemade Italian gelato. Dinner begins with Venetian cicchetti (small bites) and an aperitivo, followed by a journey of dishes from the northern hills of the Piedmont to the fresh catch from the southern shores. The menu is led by Executive Chef Raffaele Lotto and it is the perfect setting for a light lunch or a romantic dinner.
For fine dining, there’s Agli Amici's Dopolavoro Venezia restaurant, from the two starred Michelin restaurant Agli Amici 1887. Only open for dinner from April to October, the restaurant menu incorporates the market’s freshest daily produce and vegetables from the local garden.
Otherwise, you can simply settle in by the pool with a leisurely lunch from Giardino Grill, enjoy a chilled cocktail at the Rose Bar or from Sagra Poolside Bar. Tuck into perfectly made pizza at the Cucina Pizzeria, too.
