The Royal at Atlantis Paradise Island is an iconic and eye-catching family-friendly resort renowned for its wealth of facilities, including the Caribbean’s largest Casino and one of the largest waterparks in the world.
The Royal boasts the most dramatic architecture at Atlantis, centred around a series of colossal, interconnected towers which can be seen from miles around, but it’s also one of the older hotels in the Atlantis complex. The grandiose Royal Lobby bedecked with soaring ceilings and murals houses the Great Hall of Waters, an entire wall made of glass and a viewing window of the Ruins Lagoon aquarium. The resort is split into six different sections with Royal Towers being close to the best pools, a luxury spa and fitness centre.
Set on a beautiful stretch of beach on Paradise Island, famed for its turquoise waters and white sandy beaches, it’s sometimes known as ‘Vegas by the Sea.’ Paradise Lagoon is a mile away for non-motorised water sports, and there are numerous shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. Downtown Nassau with its shops, restaurants and historic sights is a little over a mile away. The resort is 12 miles from Lynden Pindling International Airport. A free and frequent shuttle transports you around the resort, to the Aquaventure Waterpark and the nearby golf club.
The Royal Tower features 1,200 rooms and suites (check-in queues can sometimes be long). They have simple contemporary Caribbean decor - think wood furnishings, neutral colours and orange accents. Standard rooms are larger than those in the Coral or Beach towers and feature sliding doors with narrow French balconies. Rooms have sitting areas, 24-hour room service, and modern amenities such as flat-screen TVs and iPod docks. The rooms also come with locked and stocked minibars with little space for your own drinks, so expect to pay a premium for these.
