British Airways® BA Good Egg Easter holiday competition: Terms and Conditions

1. This competition is available only to Eligible Participants. An Eligible Participant is a person who is a resident of the United Kingdom aged 18 years or over. Employees of British Airways ® (BA) or its affiliates will not be Eligible Participants. BA reserves the right to verify the eligibility of Eligible Participants. By taking part in this competition, Eligible Participants confirm that they accept the competition terms and conditions below.

2. An Eligible Participant must be flying on a British Airways flight between 12:00 19th April 2019 and 23:59 22nd April 2019

3. To enter the competition, an Eligible Participant should reply to the Tweet from the British Airways twitter account @british_airways “Have you seen a Good Egg or are you a Good Egg? If you’re flying with BA this bank holiday, reply to this tweet explaining the good deed you or our staff have done during your journey for the chance to win 2 return business class flight to New York #BAGoodEgg full T&Cs here”

4. Flying with BA” means:

a) a one-way or return point-to-point flight operated by British Airways (including BA Cityflyer and Comair and OpenSkies but not a flight which is operated by any of our partner airlines such as American Airlines, Iberia, Finnair and any others, full list here)

b) a connecting flight where the customer has transferred from and are transferring to a flight operated by British Airways (including BA Cityflyer and Comair and OpenSkies), in any class where the stop-over period does not exceed 24 hours.

5. By replying to the tweet from the @british_airways twitter handle the Participant accepts these terms and conditions.

6. By replying to the tweet from the @british_airways twitter handle the Participant confirms that they are not infringing the intellectual property right or any other right of any other person in the content of their tweet and they acknowledge that BA has no liability should any individual make a claim in defence of any such right.

7. All participants agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of Twitter.com and are responsible for their own use of the platform.

8. Online entry will open at 00:00am BST on the 19th April 2019 and close at 11:59pm BST on the 22nd April 2019. Any entry received by BA after the close of the competition will not be considered.

9. An automated computer receipt does not constitute proof of actual receipt by BA for the purposes of these terms and conditions. No facsimile or mechanically reproduced entries will be accepted.

10. Each eligible competition entries will be considered and the entry with the best example of a ‘good deed’ will be selected. This will be decided by a team of 3 from the British Airways Press Office. British Airways’ decision will be final, and no correspondence will be entered into. BA reserves the right to cancel or amend without notice the terms of this promotion.

11. There will be one prize winner. British Airways will share the winning tweet on Twitter on or after the 23rd April, but before the 30th April 23:59 BST. Enquiries as to the selected winner can be made over Twitter or by writing to, the promotor of the competition (address below) FAO BA Press Office

12. BA does not represent, warrant or guarantee the availability of (i) any website or computer system in its custody or control or belonging to any third party or (ii) any telecommunications systems necessary for accessing any BA website or computer system.

13. BA accepts no responsibility for damage or loss resulting from misdirected or incomplete entries arising from computer malfunction, viruses or bugs or other such causes. BA has no responsibility for any malfunction, delay, loss or damage caused by the Twitter website, its malfunction, or the actions of its administrators. The promoters are in no way liable for the reproduction or indirect access via third party websites or home page access or where any reproduction of the information contained on @british_airways misstates or omits any of the information or terms and conditions connected with the promotion.

14. BA reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any person it finds (a) to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of this competition; (b) to be acting in violation of these terms and conditions; (c) to be acting otherwise than in good faith; or (d) to have provided any false or misleading information as part of the process of entering the competition.

15. BA prohibits all defamatory, obscene, harassing, threatening or otherwise unlawful or offensive content and BA reserves the right to disqualify any participant found to have uploaded such content as part of this competition.

16. Prize includes:

a) Return Club World (business class) flights for two adults, or one adult and one child (under the age of 12) from London Heathrow (operated by British Airways) or London City (operated by Sun Air) to JFK, New York . This is inclusive of taxes, fees, charges and surcharges.

17. Flight dates are subject to availability and are valid travel between 1st May 2019 and 30th April 2020.

18. Both tickets must be redeemed at the same time and cannot be split. Tickets must be used on the same journey, on the same day and the same flights.

19. The winning entrant will be contacted by direct message over Twitter on or after the 23rd April, but before the 30th April 23:59 BST, with details on how to redeem the prize.

20. To claim the prize the winner must, within one week of receiving such notification from BA, provide written evidence of his/her residency and age, along with written confirmation that he/she is able to claim the prize as set out above. Copies of valid passports will also be required to confirm that the winner is eligible for international travel during the availability window. Proof of qualifying flight to include evidence of travelling on a BA flight within the given dates. BA flight means;

a) a one-way or return point-to-point flight operated by British Airways (including BA Cityflyer and Comair and OpenSkies but not a flight which is operated by any of our partner airlines such as American Airlines, Iberia, Finnair and any others, full list here)

b) a connecting flight where the customer has transferred from and are transferring to a flight operated by British Airways (including BA Cityflyer and Comair and OpenSkies), in any class where the stop-over period does not exceed 24 hours.

21. If the winner fails to claim the prize or if his/her travel companions cannot undertake the travel arrangements as set out above, the prize will be forfeited, and a new winner selected.

22. Prizes are non-changeable and non-transferable. No cash or credit alternatives are offered. No upgrades are allowed. No domestic add-ons are included. The winner is responsible for his/her and his/her guests’ travel arrangements, and all associated costs, to arrive at Heathrow/ London City Airport in good time for flight check in and for their onward journey upon arrival back to Heathrow/London City Airport after the holiday.

23. BA reserve the right to provide substitute prizes of a similar value, should the specific prize become unavailable for any reasons beyond its/their control.

24. The winner will be asked to provide more than one preferred travel date; however, blackout periods will apply, and dates are subject to availability.

25. BA requires that the winner arranges, at his/her own cost, travel insurance prior to travel.

26. BA is not responsible for any loss or damage howsoever caused to the winner to the maximum extent permitted by law and will not be liable for any loss, injury or damage, howsoever caused to the winner or to his/her property, except where and only to the extent that any such loss is caused by the negligence of BA, its employees or agents.

27. These terms and conditions apply to both the winner and the additional travel companion selected by the winner (one adult or one child under the age of 12) and references to the winner include (where the context permits) the travel companions.

28. No BA Avios or partner miles will be awarded for travel under this competition.

29. Not to be used in conjunction with any other offer or promotion.

30. All travel on BA flights is subject to BA’s General Conditions of Carriage for passengers and Baggage (see ba.com) and the notice and conditions of contract contained on each ticket and itinerary.

31. Personal data will be taken where necessary from all entries received but shall be limited to those details reasonably necessary for the administration of the competition. This information may be shared with any other third parties reasonably involved in the competition without liability to BA or such third parties. Please see BA’s privacy policy for full details.

32. Any travel requirements e.g. visas and vaccinations will not be covered by BA.

33. BA reserves the right to cancel or amend without notice the terms of this competition and any tickets issued in the event of major catastrophe, war, strike, earthquake or any actual or anticipated or alleged breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other circumstance beyond BA’s control.

34. BA is in no way liable for the reproduction of or indirect access to this competition or these terms and conditions via third party web sites or home page access where any reproduction of the information relating to this competition misstates or omits any of the information or terms and conditions connected with the competition.

35. Only one entry per person is permitted and BA reserves the right to wholly disqualify any person who attempts to enter more than once (whether by using multiple email addresses, multiple identities or by any other method). No third party or bulk entries are permitted.

36. Promotional materials form part of these terms and conditions. This competition is governed by English law and is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
