Panoramica
OBLU SELECT Sangeli is a modern, all-inclusive resort that lies in the Maldives’ North Male Atoll. The hotel sprawls across two islands that are linked by a curved jetty; the main island is Sangeli, while One Banyan is the smaller island – exclusively for adults by day. During your stay, you can relax in your stand-alone villa or suite, indulge at a selection of restaurants and hang out in separate family-friendly and adult-only areas. Comprehensive island facilities include a spa, a fitness centre, a kids’ club and a dive and water sports centre.
The island resort is set on the north-western tip of the Maldives, surrounded by white sandy beaches and turquoise lagoons. You’ll find most facilities on the main island. The jetty, with its long arc of overwater bungalows, leads to the spa and an adult-only pool on the other island. In the offshore coral reef, you can look out for stingrays, sea turtles and reef sharks. Male International Airport is around 50 minutes away, via a speedboat transfer.
The spacious villas and suites are decorated in a contemporary, Maldivian style with wooden floors, vaulted ceilings, marine-themed artwork and colourful textiles. Beach Villas are set along the white sands, complete with open-air bathrooms, while Water Villas (which have en-suite indoor bathrooms) are perched above the Indian Ocean on a jetty, offering a private sundeck with direct access to the lagoon. You can upgrade to a Beach or Water Villa with a private pool or choose a larger Two Bedroom Beach Pool Suite with separate bedroom and living areas.

On the main island, you’ll find a range of family-friendly facilities, including the main pool that hosts evening entertainment, plus a kids’ club and library. Children can enjoy an array of supervised activities at the kids’ club, before splashing in the children’s pool and socialising in the playground. You can book PADI dive courses at the TGI Dive & Watersports Centre, in addition to snorkelling and diving excursions in the surrounding reefs. You can also snorkel around the house lagoon and take up non-motorised water sports, such as paddleboarding, kayaking and pedal boating.
The ELENA spa is located on the adjoining island, One Banyan. The holistic treatment menu here covers a range of massages and therapies, and you can use the steam room and yoga pavilion before or after your treatment. You’ll also find a fitness centre and an adult-only infinity pool on this island.

The all-day Courtyard restaurant sits on the main part of the island, serving buffet-style breakfasts, lunches and dinners, overlooking the lagoon. You can try a choice of Indian and Maldivian dishes here, which are cooked at the live stations, as well as barbecued fare straight from the grill. In the daytime, you can order a variety of drinks at the main pool bar, The Sangs, before stopping by Hedhikaa Hut for a selection of traditional Maldivian snacks in the afternoon.
Enjoy an a la carte lunch or dinner at JustWok and Just Grill on Banyan Island, which is reserved for adults only until sun down. JustWok is the resort’s contemporary East-Asian restaurant, offering a plethora of vegetarian and meat dishes and cocktails, while Just Grill specialises in fresh seafood and meat dishes. Savour pre-dinner sundowners from 17:00 till 19:00 at The Rock bar, which lies on a small jetty overlooking the Indian Ocean.
