On arrival at Chania Airport, you have two public transport options – local buses or taxi. Buses run from outside of the airport, Monday to Sunday, into Chania centre. It takes 30 minutes and costs around €2.50 – be warned this is not a very regular service. Or you could pick up a taxi from outside the passenger terminal – they run 24-hours. You should look for the official vehicles which are blue with a “TAXI” sign on the roof. It is normally around €25 for the journey to Chania centre, with rates increasing as you travel further into Crete.
