Art Deco So/Spa is nestled within lush gardens with striking sea views. Here’s you’ll find a 20-metre indoor pool, a relaxation area, a sauna and a hammam. Spa treatments range from floatation chamber sessions to cryotherapy, as well as body rituals by ESPA and facials by QMS. SO/Fit is the resort’s fitness centre, open 24/7/365, home to outdoor and indoor areas with cardio machines, free weights and a cycling studio. Should you overdo the workout, there’s even a physiotherapist on hand.

Rent an e-bike and explore the stunning surroundings at your own pace, or join a mountain biking tour for a more vigorous jaunt. Almenara Golf Course is located within the resort grounds, and nearby courses within a seven-mile radius include La Reserva Club, Real Club de Golf Sotogrande, La Hacienda Alcaidesa Links and a further three.

Young guests are no afterthought here, with the colourful SO/Kids’ Club set in the gardens. The supervised indoor and outdoor activities for ages 4 to 13 include sports, treasure hunts, origami, pottery and gardening workshops. It’s the perfect spot to sip your morning coffee while taking in the views, tuck into a pasta dish after a round of golf, or even enjoy a Sunday roast (open for breakfast and lunch year-round and open for dinner from June to September). Open seasonally, Marxa Chiringuito is more than just a poolside eatery. Its menu features fresh fish and premium cuts of meat, cooked on a charcoal grill with Mediterranean flair. After dark, you’ll find a regular schedule of events and live music.

For a true taste of Andalusia, Cortijo Santa Maria 1962 proffers Iberian ham, fresh tuna from Cadiz and Oloroso wines. Follow with a trio of Andalusian D.O. cheeses and local sherry. From the evening until the small hours, cocktails and tapas go hand in hand at Ixo Tapas & Bar.
