Two pools flank a walkway leading to the beach. The large, lively main pool is ideal for families with its shallow area and proximity to the Club Lounge restaurant – which serves pizzas and snacks. For a more tranquil vibe, the adult-only pool wraps around an ancient-looking olive tree. Float over to its showstopping infinity edge and gaze out to sea.

Then, drift to the sunbed-lined beach to experience its cream-hued sand, calm and clear shallows, and views out to the castle on Sani Hill. Wade in, grab a snorkel or take part in water sports, including paddleboarding and kayaking. Order drinks straight to your sunbed and relax knowing there are lifeguards on duty. Parents can even sign up for the 30-minute complimentary Babewatch service from June to October – allowing you a relaxing dip or a speedy tipple at the bar. For a change of scene, the strikingly blue waters of Bousoulas Beach sit on the far side of Sani Beach hotel, backed by the wildlife-packed Sani wetlands.

Families are extremely well catered for here with a kids’ club for 4 to 12-year-olds, a teen hangout for 12 to 17-year-olds and a chargeable creche with UK Ofsted ratios for those aged 6 months to 4 years. Activities range from nature exploration and mini-Olympics to picnics and parties. You’ll also have the underrated benefit of packing light, as Sani provides baby equipment, such as Stokke cribs, Baby Bjorn bouncers, strollers, white noise machines, monitors, Gro Clocks, highchairs, changing mats, potties and so much more – just make sure to request it before you arrive, and note some may incur a charge.

Whilst here, you can take part in archery, hire bikes to explore the resort, go on birdwatching tours, hike at the Sani wetlands, and peruse the boutiques at Sani Marina. Plus, there are big name academies here, bookable for an extra charge. These include Chelsea FC, Bear Grylls survival and Rafael Nadal tennis. If that’s not for you there’s yoga and meditation, or you can squeeze in a workout at the gym.

Enter The Club Spa to the irresistible scents of Anne Semonin. Indulge in a traditional massage, a lifting facial or a volcanic stone ritual, while looking out to the interior garden planted with tropical flora. Complement your treatment with a session in the ultra-hot sauna before cooling off in the icy plunge pool. If you prefer steam, the Turkish Hammam is sure to impress with its domed ceiling and dipping pool. After that, drift to the tranquil outdoor courtyard and put your feet up on the loungers to savour your zen.

In the evening, it’s worth heading to Sani Marina for your complimentary sunset cruise (subject to booking and availability). The open-air Garden Theatre also provides a variety of musical and theatrical entertainment – it’s especially busy in the summer during the Sani Festival.

Sink your teeth into the buffet at Olympos Restaurant and remark upon sea views from the casual terrace. Ouzerie oozes a Greek feel with trademark white and blue, while it serves up sharing plates and catch of the day seafood. For a touch of the Cote d’Azur, Cabana creates French-inspired dishes, such as beef tartare, ceviche and tuna nicoise. Fringing the pool, the laid-back Club Lounge awaits with mouthwatering Italian cuisine. Alternatively, Pines promises tranquil breakfasts and farm-to-table dinners by the infinity pool – complemented by seasonal live music.

You can also dine in restaurants across the whole Sani Resort – there are 25 to choose from. Amongst the dining options, you’ll find Peruvian, Japanese, Mediterranean, Thai, Spanish, and multiple takes on Greek cuisine. Little foodies can also enjoy fine dining, too, with delicious and nutritious menus formulated by child nutritionist Annabel Karmel. After dinner, watch the sun set from the marina’s Sea You cocktail bar, catch a show at the Garden Theatre, or join in the weekly white party at the vibing Bousoulas Beach Bar.

When staying on half board or full board, you may participate in the Dine Around programme. In select restaurants, you can choose from a set menu or order a la carte with a meal allowance that’s deducted from your total bill. Half board includes breakfast and either lunch or dinner, while full board includes breakfast, lunch and dinner. Drinks are not included.
