Porto Mare’s central location, within Vila Porto Mare Resort, means that all facilities are within easy reach. Five pools include two large outdoor pools, one suitable for children, and two indoor pools – one at the spa and the other at Eden Mar. Water aerobics, yoga and Pilates classes are offered, and a weekly schedule of experiences can be explored – ask reception for the week’s agenda. Guests aged 4 to 12 can enjoy games, painting, mini-golf, table tennis and board games at the kids’ club (some activities are available during the high season). In the evenings, follow the music to Bar Portofino where live bands play.

If you’re looking to cultivate calm, the Spa at Vila Porto Mare offers a relaxation room, aesthetic centre, sauna, steam bath and gym, as well as a raft of treatments by leading spa professionals, ESPA. Treat yourself to ESPA’s ‘hero’ service; a back, face and scalp treatment, incorporating back exfoliation and massage, scalp massage and an express facial.

Atlantida Restaurant is open for breakfast and dinner. Overlooking the pool and gardens, if offers a variety of international cuisine and show cooking. You can also enjoy breakfast and dinner at Alfama Restaurant, where a la carte Portuguese and Madeiran cuisine are on the menu – children's menus are available, too. Lunch is served at Il Basilico Madeira, where you can tuck into Italian flavours indoors or on the sunny terrace. Next to Il Basilico Madeira and along the pleasant Lido promenade you'll find a healthy food haven at Horta. Order fresh, innovative fare and comforting dishes crafted using locally sourced ingredients - some taken from PortoBay's very own vegetable garden. Dine alfresco on the open-air terrace or in the warm indoor ambiance. This eatery also features a spacious bar area where you can sip signature cocktails and mixers. Snacks and light bites are served at Varanda, next to the resort’s largest pool, and at Portofino Bar, where you’ll also find a daily happy hour in the evening. Champagne cocktails are among many of the menu items at Oceano Bar, where live music is also played several days each week.

Upgrade to the half board and half board plus options to enjoy dinner buffet style at the Restaurant Atlantida or a dining credit of EUR 17 (per person, per day) to use in the a la carte restaurants; Alfama (Portuguese), Il Basilico (Italian) and Restaurant Horta (healthy comfort food).
