Within the hotel’s verdant grounds, you will find six temperature-controlled swimming pools. The main pool overlooks the beach and the Palm Jumeirah, where surrounding palm trees, boulders and vibrant bougainvillea create a tropical ambience. Several pools feature waterfalls and slides, and all are surrounded by comfortable sun loungers and umbrellas. For the utmost luxury and comfort, reserve one of the Tiki cabanas for the day (at a supplement charge). A personal attendant will bring you a refreshing fruit platter, while you gaze across the pool or beach.

The private beach is home to powdery sand and clear waters, making it an ideal spot for sunbathing or water sports. Recline under a shady umbrella, soaking up views of sea and distant Dubai skyline, before ordering refreshments at the beachside restaurant. Otherwise, an activity zone offers a jetty and the chance to hop on a paddleboat – or to kayak, snorkel and paddleboard.

Back on the property, the wide range of fitness facilities includes a modern and fully equipped gym with sea views and multipurpose rooftop courts, where you can play tennis, basketball, badminton, or football. The X-Fitness rooftop area above the gym boasts an outdoor boxing ring, battle ropes and scrum machine. You can request personal fitness training sessions or swimming lessons and participate in on one of the group classes.

Once you’re ready to wind down, head to the gym’s sauna or steam room. Alternatively, savour the tranquillity of the Sofitel SPA with L'Occitane where you can indulge in a range of signature rituals – such as the So Rejuvenating Facial or So Exhilarating Massage. Trained professionals use advanced techniques and organic products by Anne Semonin, Hei Poa and Thémaé. The 2,500 square meter sanctuary also offers multiple pools – including plunge and therapeutic pools – and there are separate zones for women and men which feature saunas, hammams and steam rooms. After your treatment, relish a drink from the ice fountain.

The supervised Amura Kids Club will keep children (under the age of 12 years old) entertained with its full activity programme. The area itself is home to toys, books, comfy chairs, and a swimming pool while organised activities include crafts, movies, face painting, sand art and ball games. Those who are seven years old or above can participate in a variety of outdoor sports, while children under the age of four years old are welcome at the club when supervised by parents or guardians. The resort also has multiple kids’ pools and water slides.

Sofitel Dubai The Palm presents an alluring collection of bars and dining venues. Manava is a family-friendly restaurant which serves lavish international buffets for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Chefs prepare signature dishes at live cooking stations, inspired by international and Arabic cuisines. Children’s menus and vegetarian options are available here, too.

For light fare and cocktails by the water’s edge, head to Maui, or enjoy the delightful offerings at Moana, a specialist seafood restaurant. Feast on fresh oysters, lobsters and scallops or try expertly prepared sushi and sashimi dishes. Porterhouse Steaks & Grills is the place to savour prime cuts of meat, while Hong Loong is a sophisticated, Chinese restaurant which boasts direct sea views. Sample signature classics such as the Peking duck, dim sum or the sautéed lobster. If you crave authentic Indian cuisine with a modern twist, don’t miss Zoya by Maui. There’s also The World Eatery, situated in the apartments building, which offers an incredible selection of dishes from across the globe – ranging from Arabic mezze to Mexican quesadillas.

Enjoy drinks and refreshments at one of the seven bars and lounges, including the beachside Laguna Lounge and poolside Maui Beach Bar. Watch sporting events at the Replay Sports Bar and listen to music over vintage cocktails at Porterhouse Bar. Oliver’s is an elegant lounge and café, where you can relish French pasties and afternoon tea; and there’s a Gelati Ice Cream parlour.
