The all-inclusive Lily Beach Resort and Spa offers affordable luxury in the Maldives. It sits on a private island in the beautiful South Ari Atoll, bordered by clear turquoise waters and powder-soft stretches of sand. On the island, you’ll find facilities for families and adults alike, including a sprawling sports complex, two swimming pools (one for adults only), excellent diving and water sports facilities, a spa and a kids’ club. The all-inclusive plan covers a selection of restaurants and bars, a range of activities and memorable excursions.
Lily Beach Resort and Spa sits on the private island of Huvahendhoo in the Maldives’ South Ari Atoll. The resort is excellent for diving and snorkelling, with its house reef located just ten metres offshore; indeed, the surrounding waters are known for attracting whale sharks throughout the year. The journey from the resort to Male International Airport takes about 25 minutes on a seaplane.
The spacious villas are decorated in a contemporary style with hardwood floors and neutral colours. Most villas have an outdoor bathroom with a whirlpool tub and an outdoor terrace with direct access to the lagoon or beach. You can upgrade to a spacious Deluxe Water Villa, which includes a luxurious indoor bathroom and a private overwater deck with a jetted plunge pool and direct lagoon access. Family Beach Villas are also available, with separate sleeping areas which are interconnected by a door.

This island resort is divided into two sides – one for active pursuits, one for relaxation. The main pool lies adjacent to the Turtles kids’ pool, which is situated near the kids’ club for 3- to 12-year-olds. This area also houses the Outdoor Vibes pool bar and restaurant, and the sports complex. Head here for a game of tennis, volleyball or football. You can also play ping-pong, work out in the air-conditioned gym, play board games or billiards, or find a quiet spot for a yoga session.
Ocean lovers can stop by the dive centre for a range of dive experiences, excursions and courses with PADI-certified staff, or snorkel in the surrounding house reef, home to colourful coral fish, rays and sea turtles. You can also try an array of water sports, including kayaking, windsurfing, pedal boating and catamaran sailing (non-motorised water sports are included in the all-inclusive package). Popular excursions include semi-submarine trips, sunset cruises and visits to nearby islands, but you may prefer to simply traipse along the narrow stretch of white-sand beach, grabbing complimentary drinks from the beachside coolers.
Alternatively, retreat to the adult-only infinity pool on the other side of the island, close to the adult-only pool bar and overwater spa. Tamara Spa provides Babor and Frella beauty products, soothing massage rituals and tension-relieving head massages (supplementary charges apply). You can even enjoy your treatment in the privacy of a double overwater treatment villa, complete with an outdoor shower and hot tub that overlooks the Indian Ocean.

Lily Maa is the resort’s main restaurant which opens for breakfast, lunch and dinner. This open-sided restaurant has sand floors and lovely lagoon views, and it offers bountiful buffet spreads, theme dinners and a dedicated kids’ buffet area. During your stay, you can also savour Indian-Thai fusion cuisine at the a la carte Tamarind restaurant. The romantic venue provides a distinctive fine dining experience with signature dishes, a list of premium wines and breathtaking sunset views, as its set above the ocean. Otherwise, you can treat yourself to a five-course degustation menu at Les Turquoise D’Aqua.
For light bites and refreshments, stop by the poolside Vibes bar or the adult-only AQVA Bar. There are also Japanese delicacies at Teppenyaki, and the sand-floored Spirit Bar is the perfect spot for sundowners.
