Bag Drop points are available in our departure areas at London Heathrow Terminal 5, London Gatwick and London City airports. Less time standing in queues and a faster bag drop leads to a smoother airport journey for you and your bags.

Let’s be honest. The quicker and easier it is to drop your bags off when you get to the airport, the better. And that’s where our Bag Drop points come in.

By using these areas to drop off your bags, rather than queueing at a traditional check-in desk, you can enjoy a faster, smoother and more independent journey through the airport.

The faster way to be ‘travel ready’ at the airport

Bag Drop points are available in the departure areas at London Heathrow Terminal 5, London Gatwick and London City airports.

They are easy to use: Simply check in and access your boarding pass via the British Airways mobile app or on ba.com before you arrive at the airport or at the airport check-in kiosks when you arrive.

Once you have your boarding pass, head straight to the Bag Drop area to check in your bags.

Bag Drop - and go

At the Bag Drop point, you simply place your bag on the baggage belt to start. You’ll then be prompted to scan your boarding pass and follow the instructions on the screen to check in your bags.

Each bag tag will have any connections, priority or heavy bag information automatically printed on it and you will get a receipt at the end of the transaction.

Don’t worry if you have any issues, as the British Airways team are there to help you at any time, if you need it.

Once you’ve checked in, dropped your bag without queueing and gone through security, you’ll have more time to shop, enjoy a drink in the lounge, catch up on your emails or just relax before your flight.

Please remember:

  • Check in and bag drops close 60 minutes before all long haul flights’ scheduled departure time and 45 minutes before most short haul flights’ scheduled departure time.
  • Make sure that you are through security at least 35 minutes before your flight departs.
  • Debe presentarse en la puerta de embarque al menos 20 minutos antes de la salida de su vuelo.
