collapsedshowEarly check-in

Early check-in at London Gatwick

Early check-in allows you to check in, leave your baggage and receive your boarding pass the day before your flight departs, leaving you more time to relax on the day you fly.

Who can use this service?

You can use early check-in to check-in the day before if you are travelling on any British Airways London Gatwick flight that departs before 15:15.

What time can I check in the day before my flight?

You can check-in any time between 16:00 and 22:00 on the day before your British Airways flight from London Gatwick North Terminal.

What should I do on the day before my flight?

On the day before your flight, just go to a British Airways check-in desk between 16:00 and 22:00, taking your travel documents, passport and baggage as though you were about to travel. For security reasons, everyone who would like to use early check-in must go to the check-in desk in person; you cannot check-in someone else in their absence.
You'll be asked to leave a telephone contact when you check in.
You'll be checked in for your flight and given your boarding pass, and we'll take any baggage that you want to check-in.
Once your baggage has been checked in, we won't be able to retrieve it,
so make sure you have everything you need before you check in.

What should I do on the day of my flight?

On the day of your flight, as you already have your boarding pass you can go straight to airport security; you don't need to come back to a British Airways check-in desk. Remember to be at the departure gate at least 20 minutes before departure.

collapsedshowBag drop desks

If you have baggage to check in, you can use a check-in kiosk to print your baggage tags even if you have already printed your boarding pass at home. When you have printed your baggage tags, please drop your tagged baggage at one of the bag drop desks. A bag drop host will then invite you to present your two items of hand baggage that will then be prepared for travel on board. If your hand baggage exceeds your allowance, it may need to be checked in and charges may apply.
