Following the agreed Brexit deal, we advise you to check the government’s website for information on entry requirements to the country you’re travelling to and any changes that could affect your journey.
Further information can be found here.
All UK passport holders should check the updated government advice regarding passport validity requirements. You are responsible for ensuring you have valid documentation for travel.
If your passport is no longer valid you will need to renew it before you can fly. Please ensure that you leave plenty of time to do this, as the Passport Office may be very busy.
In 2021, you’ll only need a visa if you will be staying for longer than 90 days. From 2022, the EU will be introducing a European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS). This will be similar to the ESTA system for travelling to the USA and you’ll need to register your details online before you travel.
If you’re a tourist, you will not need a visa for short trips to most EU countries, plus Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland. You’ll be able to stay for up to 90 days in any 180 -day period.
Different rules will apply to Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus and Romania. If you visit these countries, visits to other EU countries will not count towards the 90 -day total.
You may need a visa or permit to stay for longer, to work or study, or for business travel. Check the entry requirements for the country that you’re planning to visit here.
Please check the latest government guidance for extra requirements.
For the latest rules on driving abroad, please check the UK government website.
There will be no change to your consumer rights. We will continue to care for our customers in the same way during times of disruption, offering alternative flights, refunds or compensation as appropriate.
The UK Government has confirmed and adopted into UK law a continuation of the same levels of compensation from airlines if flights are cancelled or seriously delayed.
EU, EEA and Swiss citizens will continue to be able to travel to the UK for holidays or short trips without needing a visa. You’ll be able to cross the UK border using a valid passport. Please note you will not be able to use your EEA or Swiss national ID card to enter the UK from 1 October 2021.
Please visit the UK government website to read the full information
You will not be able to use your existing pet passport to enter the EU or Northern Ireland, and Pet travel requirements have now changed. You should contact a vet at least 1 month before you travel.
Further guidance is available at gov.uk/pet-travel.
Changes following Brexit mean that from 1 October 2021, you will not be able to use an EU, EEA or Swiss national ID card to enter the UK unless you’re exempt. Please check the latest UK Government advice. Please note that it is your responsibility to check and observe all requirements applicable to your journey. Should you fail to comply with these requirements, you may not be allowed to travel or may be refused entry at your destination.
