Riga, the Baltics’ largest capital, is the cultural centre of Latvia. Book direct flights to Riga with British Airways, and you’ll touch down in the city in just three hours.
You’ll find a protected UNESCO World Heritage Site, filled with grand Art Nouveau architecture and gothic buildings, in the city’s splendid core. Experimental restaurants and trendy bars line the streets which curve through the medieval Old Town, where you can order craft beers and Riga’s traditional Black Balsam drink. Marvel at Riga’s skyline from the bell tower at St Peter’s Church, browse the modern art galleries and stop by Riga’s Central Market to select local delicacies for a picnic in Bastejkalna Park.
We fly to Riga International Airport (RIX) from London Heathrow (LHR). A direct flight from London will take three hours.
Trips to Riga are usually planned to coincide with the city’s warmest weather in July and August. You can enjoy boat rides on the canal and gentle strolls along the River Daugava during these summer months. In January and February, Latvia fulfils its reputation for cold winters, as average temperatures drop to their lowest.
You'll find great value fares available across the summer season. We offer direct flights to Riga three times a week from July to September.
Riga International Airport (RIX) is around seven miles from Riga’s centre. The city bus number 22 will take you directly from the airport to the city centre in around 30 minutes. The bus stop is located opposite the terminal building, towards the far end of the main parking lot. You can also book a taxi, parked outside the airport’s arrivals building. Although this is more expensive, it reduces your journey time to around 15 minutes.
