Overview

This small private island provides an intimate retreat and its impeccable attention to detail is reflected in its numerous accolades. Each of the 20 private houses has its own infinity pool – so you could be forgiven for never wanting to leave your room. If you do, there is a good range of water sports and on land activities, including an attractive spa and bespoke culinary experiences.

Naladhu Private Island is situated on Velighandu Huraa in the South Male Atoll, 13 miles from Male International Airport. A speedboat transfer to and from the resort takes around 30 minutes. The hotel can also arrange a private transfer on their luxury Nirvana Yacht. It is also possible to take a shuttle boat to sister property Anantara Dhigu. Or you can access the facilities at nearby Anantara Veli, accessible by a board walk, exclusively for guests over 18 years or families with dinner reservations.

Choose between the Ocean Houses which offer stunning sunrise views from your bedroom and an ocean front deck with a dining area and a private beach cabana on the edge of the lagoon. Or opt for the seclusion of the Beach Houses, which provide a haven for beach lovers with your own private garden and direct access to the beach. Both Houses include an eight-metre infinity pool and provide 24-hour butler service. Your Kuwaanu will indulge your every whim, whether that’s curating a personalised wine selection or arranging private al fresco dining.

If you’re feeling more energetic you can go snorkelling and kayaking or play volleyball, badminton and table tennis free of charge. There’s also a fitness centre open 24-hours. Or you can head to the Dive and Water Sports Centre, where you can arrange PADI 5-star scuba diving, hire jet skis, take a seabob out, go windsurfing, catamaran sailing, kite surfing or deep sea fishing at a charge. You can also book a trip to a deserted island – Gulhifushi, where you’ll be spoilt with breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea, and the resident marine biologist will take you on a private snorkelling tour.

For families there’s a kids’ club at Anantara Dhigu called the Dhoni Club, where young ones will be kept entertained with engaging activities.

Dining information

The Living Room provides all-day dining with a twist. In addition to the a la carte selections on offer, the ‘no menu’ concept inspires chefs to create your favourite dishes using fresh, seasonal ingredients. The sommelier will help you pair each course perfectly, with a wide selection of vintage wines to sample from the glass-walled wine cellar. You can also arrange an intimate dining experience in a natural hideaway of your choosing, where a private chef, Kawaanu and sommelier will wait on hand to provide an exceptional culinary service. Or you can take advantage of the in-residence dining, where you can enjoy coveted dishes in the comfort of your private House.

Alternatively, you can enjoy lunch or dinner at Sea.Fire.Salt, over at sister hotel Anantara Dhigu Resort and Spa. Here you'll find fresh seafood, prime cuts of meat and vegetarian dishes. Or you can dine at sister hotel, Anantara Veli Maldives Resort, where you'll find 73 Degrees, serving authentic Italian specialties, the resort’s signature Thai restaurant, Baan Huraa, or modern Japanese restaurant, Origami (Teppanyaki excluded).

Children under 12 can eat lunch or dinner for free from the children’s menu when dining with their parents – this applies to maximum of two children under the age of 12 per villa, additional children’s meals are charged as indicated on the menu. If children chose items from the restaurant menus, a 50% discount will be applied. Please be aware that Anantara will be an adult-only resort from 1 November 2022.

*In-residence dining, and Intimate Dining Experience are not included in the meal plans. Half board meals comprise a three-course menu or buffet. Drinks, except for still water, are not included. Families with kids can visit Anantara Veli only with dinner reservations after 18:00.
