Overview
Once frequented by John D. Rockefeller and F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Knickerbocker Hotel is an iconic attraction in New York City. Offering a calming, five-star escape amidst the bustle and bright lights of the city, the hotel provides dining by celebrity chef Charlie Palmer, a rooftop bar with unforgettable views and luxury accommodation.
Sat on the intersection of Broadway and 42nd Street, the hotel is on Times Square’s doorstep. You’ll find many more of New York’s best-known sights in this Midtown neighbourhood, too – Bryant Park, New York Public Library, Grand Central Terminal, Rockefeller Centre, Empire State Building and Radio City Music Hall are all within a one-mile stroll away. Central Park is less than three miles away, and John F. Kennedy International Airport is just over 16 miles from the hotel.
Built in 1906, The Knickerbocker’s iconic terracotta Beaux-Arts façade envelops a modern interior with muted shades, moody lighting and plenty of marble. Accommodation ranges from Deluxe Rooms to Corner Junior Suites – with dual aspect Times Square Views, to the spacious top floor Caruso Suite, named after tenor Enrico Caruso, who used to stay here. All rooms feature taupe interiors, toiletries by Dyptique, hairdryers, remote-controlled black out blinds, bathrobes and bedside USB ports.

Dining information
Led by award-winning celebrity chef Charlie Palmer, the hotel’s main restaurant serves Palmer’s renowned American cuisine for breakfast, ‘power lunch,’ brunch, lunch and dinner, as well as a pre-theatre and a cocktail menu. Dishes include The Knick breakfast sandwich – with a fried egg, comté cheese, avocado and Italian speck, ‘Knick’s Famous Lobster Mac n Cheese,’ and of course, New York Cheesecake. Grab-and-go items are also suitably chic at Jake’s @ The Knick, where fresh pastries, granola bowls and a range of flatbreads accompany the brand’s own coffees. It’s rumoured that the Martini was created here, and their bar offerings don’t disappoint. Located on the rooftop overlooking Times Square, St. Cloud serves a diverse range of light bites and creative cocktails, from St. Cloud crisps served with truffle aioli, to the St. Cloud cocktail with Patron Reposado, Singani 63, allspice dram, lemon and egg white.
