This resort is ideal for golfers as it offers a par 72 championship golf course built over 150 acres with scenic views of the Indian ocean and the mountains in the background and also a Par 3 short course at the Heritage Golf Club. Both courses were designed by world renowned golf course architect and ex-European Tour player, Peter Matkovich. Nominal green fees per person per game apply – unless the All Inclusive board basis or Garden Golf Suite options are booked, in which case unlimited fees at the Heritage Club are included in addition to one free 2 person golf cart per round per day.

The 2000 sqm Spa facility, The Seven Colours Spa, is located amongst the tropical gardens with water features and coconut palms. It offers both modern and ancient techniques in nine treatment rooms and two outdoor gazebos surrounded by ponds, with a private pool and relaxation area. The hotel also has a heated outdoor pool

Child-friendly features include excellent children's menus and a kids' club. The latter is called Timomo & Friends and is open every day from 08:30 to 23:00. Different activities for children aged from 3 to 11 include fitness classes & wellness activities – stretching and swimming, golf initiation, kids activities, mini-golf, Mauritian Sega, outdoor cinema, crab hunting on the beach, star gazing (weather permitting). Many of the rooms are good for families with interleading rooms and convertible sofa beds. A full programme of activities is offered to teenagers from 12 to 17 years old and a complimentary Baby Corner at the Kids Club for toddlers 0-35 months operates from 08.30 to 16.00 daily. Pre-booking in advance for babies is advised due to limited places.

Dining information

The resort offers an impressive choice of dining experiences with 12 restaurants within the Domaine de Bel Ombre. These include Annabella's, the hotel's main restaurant, is an interactive show kitchen where guests and the kitchen brigade enjoy a convivial atmosphere, offering a five course choice menu nightly, three menus on a 14-day rotation (included on the half board option).

Ginja, an Asian speciality restaurant set on the beach ideal for a romantic dinner at sunset. Dining in this restaurant is extended to a ‘feet in the sand’ experience with table settings on the beach along the water’s edge with the mood enhanced by flaming torches. Le Palmier, overlooking the pool and the ocean, is a restaurant specialising in seafood and local delicacies which is open from morning until sunset. Beach waiter service is also available. Built in the early 19th century and set amidst beautiful gardens, the Chateau de Bel Ombre Manor house was the heart of the Bel Ombre estate. It offers a Mauritian menu, open for dinner only and adults only.

The Cavendish bar and lounge is the masterpiece of the hotel, this bar boasts a cigar and library lounge where in comfortable armchairs the connoisseur can enjoy the sounds of the resident band, overlooking the river. The ‘C’ Beach Club’s trendy restaurant serves a colourful selection of Mediterranean dishes with a majestic view of the lagoon.
