Overview
Prepare to be transported back to the mythical days of King Arthur the moment you step across Excalibur’s drawbridge. Modelled after a medieval castle, this hotel is popular with families, thanks to its good value and huge choice of drinking and dining venues with options to suit most budgets. There’s also a choice of pools and variety of live entertainment. Equally, there’s plenty to keep adults amused, from the adult-only pool and casino to adult entertainment in the form of Thunder From Down Under.
On the south end of the Las Vegas Strip, the hotel is sat between the iconic Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign and the Fountains of Bellagio, both around a mile and a half away. Head to the north of the Strip to visit the Fremont Street Experience – a vast mall with shows and activities, including a 12-storey zipline, as well as Viva Vision, an evening visual and audio show that transforms the mall’s 12,000 m2 LED-lined ceiling. Fans of the paranormal must take a pit stop at Zak Bagans’ The Haunted Museum. Located in a mansion known for its dark past, this museum features creepy hallways, secret passages and cursed artefacts. Harry Reid International Airport is only two miles from the hotel.
The hotel’s fairytale approach features battlement-topped accommodation towers surrounding gold and red turreted main areas. Inside, some common areas and accommodation would benefit from refurbishment, however, the kitschy medieval theme is a crowd pleaser. Rooms are basic, with non-themed and varied decor. Most feature dark wooden furniture and patterned carpets and curtains. Upgrading grants views of the Strip.
