Overview
GoldenEye is perched on a seaside cliff, surrounded by secret coves, private beaches, tropical forests and an expansive lagoon. As the former home of renowned author Ian Fleming, this historic hideaway is one of Jamaica’s most iconic hotels. Today the resort embodies laidback luxury, giving you the chance to stay in the writer’s original Fleming Villa − or one of the neighbouring private villas, cottages or beach huts. The grounds offer two seafront pools, a waterfront spa and a sophisticated array of dining venues, and the extensive activities programme includes water sports, tennis and nature walks.
Covering 52-acres, the GoldenEye estate lies on Jamaica’s northern coast, around 13 miles outside of Ocho Rios. Tucked away in the less developed town of Oracabessa, the resort provides direct access to two private beaches and is situated just two miles from the white sands of James Bond Beach. The rainforest, rivers and impressive waterfalls at Dunn's River Falls are around 15 miles away, and the eco-friendly Mystic Mountain adventure park is of a similar distance. Montego Bay is the nearest airport, around 73 miles away, while Kingston-Norman Manley Airport is 78 miles from the property.
The rustic accommodation remains luxurious, and the more affordable One- and Two-Bedroom Beach Huts are dotted around a garden. They have simple but elegant interiors and views of the lush hillside, sea or beach. Many are raised above the ground on stilts, while the Two-Bedroom Beach Huts are spread across two storeys, creating an enhanced sense of privacy for groups or families with older children. Lagoon Cottages boast direct access to the lagoon from a private dock, which makes them ideal for water sports enthusiasts, while One- or Two-Bedroom Beach Villas provide direct beach access, along with an outdoor shower, vast dining veranda and full kitchen. The three original properties are very private and include separate bedroom and living areas, a kitchen, a veranda and a private outdoor shower and free-standing bathtub. The largest is Strangeways, an impressive three-bedroom oceanfront villa, situated on the clifftop with a private swimming pool and superb views across the Caribbean Sea.
