Jolly Beach Resort is a good-value, family-orientated hotel in Antigua. The all-inclusive resort is popular for its enviable beachfront location. Spread across 40 acres, there are plenty of beach activities, along with a cricket pitch, tennis courts, games room and supervised kids’ club. Plus, there’s a small spa, two outdoor swimming pools and multiple dining options.
The resort stretches along a scenic one-mile beach on Antigua’s prime west coast. It’s considered one of the island’s finest beaches, offering powdery white sand, calm Caribbean waters and breathtaking sunset views. Jolly Harbour is within walking distance, where you'll find a bustling marina with restaurants and bars, and a few shops – including a supermarket. There’s also the Jolly Harbour Golf Club, which lies less than one mile away. The distance to the capital of St John’s is about six and a half miles, and V.C. Bird International Airport is about ten miles from the resort.
The resort’s 464 air-conditioned rooms are modest in size and simple in decor. Although they could benefit from a little refurbishment, they are all functional and come with a private balcony or terrace (choose between ocean or garden views). There are six different options to suit your needs. Super Saver rooms offer the best value, ideal for those on a budget, and great if you intend to spend most of your time exploring the island and taking advantage of the hotel’s activity programme. Standard rooms are the most popular choice and slightly roomier. Up to four people can share two queen-sized beds in the Superior rooms, and these rooms come with additional amenities such as a tea and coffee maker, a mini-fridge and an iron and ironing board. For a romantic stay, upgrade to a Junior Suite to benefit from a separate living room and double balcony.

Jolly Beach Resort offers great value for money, with an abundance of activities throughout the day and evening. The many beach activities on offer include complimentary kayaking and sailing lessons and weekly family beach Olympic tournaments. You can participate in a tug of war battle or sack race, and compete in games of football, rounders and beach or pool volleyball. You can also test your newly learned skills by participating in kayak and sailing races.
Other leisure facilities include tennis and basketball courts, a cricket field, and a games room with pool and ping pong tables. The supervised kids’ club promises a full line-up of activities for children between the ages of 3 to 12 years old, giving parents the chance to visit the on-site spa for a well-served pampering session. The fun continues into the evening, with live music – including Caribbean steel pan bands – and colourful performances by local dance companies.
Two outdoor swimming pools boast sea views, and one features a waterfall and swim-up bar. You can also head to the air-conditioned fitness centre, learn dance by the pool, get creative in the Antiguan Art and Craft Corner, and set your sights on star gazing.
Dining at the resort begins with a buffet breakfast at Hemispheres, including a selection of fresh fruits, pancakes and made-to-order omelettes. In the afternoon, enjoy a lunch buffet of soups, salads and grilled delights, followed by evening dinners inspired by worldwide cuisines.
At the beach, Coconut Grill serves casual bites, including burgers, hot dogs, jerk chicken and chips, alongside panoramic views of the sea. In the afternoons, keep an eye out at the courtyard, which turns into an afternoon tea station, serving finger sandwiches, scones and sweet treats.
For dinner, Bocciolo offers an Italian buffet with an antipasto bar, and Lydia’s provides a beachside setting with seafood – make sure to stop by here on a Sunday for an Antiguan brunch buffet and a seasonal steel drum band. Margarita’s serves Mexican cuisine in a cosy, open-air setting, with quesadillas, tacos and empanadas on the menu.
There are no elevators at this resort so you might need to request a ground floor room.
In response to Coronavirus (COVID-19) a self-declaration needs to
be completed on arrival and before you access the spa, there will be thermal temperature screening procedures in place and you will be required to wear a face mask in all public areas. All buffet and self-serve stations will be replaced with a staff-managed service. Reservations are required as there will be a reduced capacity.
