Set just in front of the lake, bordered by white sun loungers and umbrellas, the semi-circle sand-bottom pool provides a unique spot for relaxation. Towering palms surround the two other pools which are linked by a sunbathing bridge otherwise, stop by the tranquil adult-only pool, sinking into a sumptuous day bed for two. Nearby, is an exclusive Food Truck for drinks and light bites. The award-winning adult-only Soma Spa offers invigorating Turkish and Roman baths as well as Greek-inspired treatments combined with products by renowned brand Elemis. Here you’ll also find an indoor pool, relaxation garden and gym. They run fitness classes on the lake pergola and sunrise yoga sessions, too.

Walk or cycle alongside olive, almond and fig trees on the resort’s nature trails, which span five kilometres. Otherwise, cruise around the resort lake in a pedalo or canoe, and continue your exploration of the Algarve with olive oil and wine tasting experiences. The ‘famous five’ golf courses of Vilamoura are within 12 miles of the resort, including the Dom Pedro Old Course, Dom Pedro Millennium, Victoria, Pinhal and Laguna golf courses. The concierge team are also on hand to assist with booking tee times, local restaurant reservations and nearby island excursions.

Younger guests can retreat to the kids’ club, which provides Ofsted-standard supervision. They can also plant their own flowers and herbs, while learning about healthy eating and sustainability at the KiEPOS learning garden. There’s a creche available, too.

If you’re staying in an Absolute Suite, Emerald Retreat, Sapphire Family Retreat or Tropical Family Retreat, you’ll also have Haute Living Selection benefits, which includes 24-hour access to an exclusive lounge. The Haute Living Lounge provides complimentary hot and cold snacks throughout the day, as well as fruit, salads and traditional delicacies. Teas, coffees, beers, branded wines, soft drinks and juices are also available, as are branded spirits in the evenings. In addition, the lounge features dedicated concierge, high-speed Wi-Fi, tablets, magazines and coffee table books.

Dining information

This hotel brings a Portuguese flavour to its celebrated Mediterranean menus at all three of its restaurants. Start your day with a tempting buffet breakfast at Gustatio Restaurant, which also serves Portuguese comfort food and showstopping desserts. Tuck into Greek seafood paired with a carefully selected list of Greek wines at the Topos restaurant, led by Executive Chef Dionysios Pliatsikas. Sat atop the water, Makris on the Lake offers a tempting tasting menu of fresh, local and organic dishes, and situated by the beach, Sora Beach serves up fresh Algarvian seafood with sunset views.

The boho-chic Apricus Lagoon Bar is located poolside and offers cold drinks and tasty snacks with DJ tunes. Raw Gastro Bar offers sushi and finger foods alongside cocktails developed by award-winning mixologists.

For 2023/24, the standard half board package includes a daily buffet breakfast and dinner in Gustatio. You can also swap your dinner for a three-course set menu lunch in Apricus, with a prior reservation (subject to availability, drinks not included). If you’re staying in Haute Living Selection accommodation in 2023/24, as well as the standard half board package, you’ll have access to one three-course a la carte dinner per five-night stay in Topos (subject to availability, exclusions apply, not valid on theme nights). Drinks are not included in either package. Haute Living Selection accommodation guests who opt for the standard bed and breakfast package can also enjoy a complimentary upgrade to the half board package.

The full board package in 2023/24 includes a daily buffet breakfast and dinner in Gustatio and a three-course set menu lunch in Apricus (reservations required, subject to availability). Drinks not included.

If you have chosen a half board or full board package and wish to dine a la carte, you can do so by receiving a EUR 20 credit per adult and EUR 10 credit per child against your meal supplement, to be deducted from your dinner bill (not applicable for Sora Beach or special themed evenings, pre-booking required).
