Book direct flights to Gdansk with British Airways, and you’ll land in the city in just under two and a half hours. Situated on the Baltic coastline, Gdansk is one of Poland’s most scenic, cultured and historically important cities.
The Old Town’s cobblestone thoroughfares are lined with grand pastel-hued buildings, which were famously rebuilt after WWII, while the historical embankment is flooded with vibrant restaurants and beer gardens. Boutique stores sell amber trinkets, boats cruise along the river and fascinating museums invite you to take a step back in time.
We fly to Gdansk Lech Walesa Airport (GDN) from London Heathrow (LHR). A direct flight from London will take 2 hours and 25 minutes.
July and August are the most popular months to visit Gdansk, since the weather is warmest, and you can spend sunny days in Oliwa Park or on the nearby Jelitkowo Beach. During the last week of July, and the first two weeks of August, the city hosts the St Dominic’s Fair which attracts many tourists. Therefore, you may want to consider the quieter months of early July or September, if you’re looking to avoid large crowds and experience warm weather.
We operate a summer schedule, with great fares available and a choice of three flights per week from July to September.
Gdansk Lech Walesa Airport (GDN) is around 10 miles from the city centre. Public transport to and from Gdansk airport includes buses, taxis and trains. The Gdansk Aiport Bus (on line 210) will take you directly to the city centre in around 35-50 minutes, depending on traffic, and buses typically depart every 30 - 60 minutes. You can also hop in a taxi, just outside the arrivals area.
Although there is no direct train line between the airport and city centre, you can hop on a train at the airport’s station and change at Gdansk Wrzeszcz station to reach the Old Town of Gdansk. This journey usually takes around 45 minutes.
