Dubai’s weekend begins on Friday, and brunch is more than just a meal between breakfast and lunch, it has become a cultural tradition. Much like breakfast in New York or a Sunday roast across the UK, brunch in Dubai is where friends meet, chat and gorge themselves – and in Dubai, the more extravagant the better.
Well known in Dubai as one of the most popular brunches, you will be blown away by the amazing range of food being prepared for your taste buds. The Bubbalicious Brunch is brought to you by three of Dubai’s best restaurants at The Westin Dubai Mina. Blue Orange brings buffet style classics and live cooking shows, Spice Emporium is ideal for sushi and Asian delicacies and Hunters Room for perfectly-cooked steaks amid stylish décor. What makes this brunch so special is the entertainment, from Chinese acrobats wowing the crowds, live music and even a petting zoo for the little ones in your group.
This Mexican-inspired brunch is perfect for lazing the day away, as it also includes all-day access to the spectacular pools of Le Royal Meridien during and afterwards. So whilst sampling an exquisite modern take on Mexican classics – like homemade huarache, guacamole and succulent rib-eye steak fajitas – guests can lounge in the private beach or sip tequila cocktails by the pool. Make sure to save room for dessert as they serve banana filled crepes with toffee, sherbet and ice cream, possibly the most indulgent sweet in Dubai. Don’t forget to leave it 30 minutes before swimming or you may sink.
The brunch at Saffron’s in Atlantis The Palm, has more than 220 dishes to choose from – from seafood and dim sum to burgers, pizza and steaks cooked to perfection. But more than that, it is like being at nightclub, in the day, with lots of delicious food at your fingertips. The young and trendy crowd (21 and up) sip inventive and bottomless cocktails as they listen to a raucous playlist of hip hop and chart hits, whilst digging in to some tasty morsels. Watch out for impromptu dancing between the tables and make some new friends at brunch and at the after-brunch party.
Legend has it that this was the first brunch in the UAE, and must be its biggest with three sections – The Hide, Al Hambra and Arboretum – serving an overwhelming amount of delectable food. It is so large that people often get lost navigating the various bars and spaces, with live cooking stations giving off incredible aromas of Arabic, Asian, and European cuisine. The décor inside the stunning Madinat Jumeriah creates an atmosphere of lavish living, which works perfectly with the banquets all around you. There are even street food trucks on the lawns, offering Sri Lankan doughnuts and such like.
This Friday favourite at the Park Hyatt Dubai has won numerous awards for its brilliant French-inspired brunch, which features live cooking stations so you can marvel at the skilled chefs. Traiteur serve incredible appetisers including shucked oysters, a huge selection of charcuterie and a veritable cave of French cheeses. But that is just the beginning, with lobster and salmon on the grill alongside haunches of beef and spit-roasted pork, this is brunch for the foodie. And the desserts are outstanding, with eclairs, macarons, crepes and waffles, and crème brûlée. Select your food and then sit back to enjoy the live jazz, sipping champagne on the terrace.
