Basic fares are ideal for short trips when you are travelling light and want the lowest possible fare. You’ll still enjoy our new and improved complimentary food and bar service, you’ll have an allocated seat when you check in and your fare includes our generous hand baggage allowance of a handbag or laptop, plus a cabin bag. With Basic fares you have the option of paying to add a checked bag, choose your seat, or add other extras via Manage My Booking before you travel.
Standard fares offer a range of extras to make your journey simpler and easier. You can take more with you, choose where you sit and board earlier.
Standard fares include a generous 23kg checked baggage allowance on top of your hand baggage allowance, plus you can choose your seat for free from 24 hours before you fly.

When preparing for your trip, remember that you are permitted to carry one handbag or laptop, plus a cabin bag. You should check size and weight limits before travelling. If the stated size and weight limits are exceeded, you will need to pay for extra baggage at the airport rate.
Your checked baggage allowance will vary, depending on the type of fare that you have purchased. If you’ve booked a Basic fare and your plans change, meaning you need to purchase a checked bag for your journey, it’s cheaper to buy it in advance than it will be at the airport on the day of travel.

On the day of travel, your handbag or laptop bag is always guaranteed to travel in the cabin. A yellow 'Cabin Guaranteed' tag may be placed on this item at the airport to show this. Should the overhead luggage compartment become full on your flight, you will still be allowed to take your laptop or handbag on board, but your larger cabin bag may be checked into the hold free of charge. In case this happens, you should make sure that your travel essentials are within your laptop bag or handbag.
If you only have hand baggage and don’t need to visit a bag drop desk at the airport, you should still complete any necessary passport and visa document checks before you proceed to security. You can do this at our dedicated passport & visa check desks, self-service touchpoints or at any check-in desk. Services available vary by airport.
