We’ve made some exciting enhancements to Companion Vouchers earned with your British Airways American Express Card from 1 September 2021. The Companion Voucher you hold will depend on the Card product you earned it with. See below for details of the benefits of each Companion Voucher type, as well as the latest updates that will allow you to get away, your way.

British Airways American Express® Credit Card

Get a British Airways American Express Credit Card Companion Voucher when you spend £12,000 each membership year on the Card.  Companion Vouchers can be used when you redeem Avios for a Reward Flight in Euro Traveller, World Traveller or other Economy cabins.

You can now use your Companion Voucher to explore more destinations by booking Reward Flights that include journeys with Iberia or Aer Lingus.

Reward Flights and Companion Voucher bookings are subject to availability and taxes, fees, carrier charges apply per person.  The British Airways American Express Credit Card Companion Voucher is valid for 12 months from issuance.1

Travel with a companion

The British Airways American Express Credit Card Companion Voucher entitles you to receive a second economy class seat for a companion travelling on the same flight as you for no additional Avios when you make a Reward Flight booking on a British Airways, Aer Lingus or Iberia flight.

Or

Choose to fly solo

You can use your Companion Voucher as a solo adult travelling on a Reward Flight booking in Euro Traveller, World Traveller or other Economy cabins and receive a 50% discount on the Avios price for the flight.

Whether you’re planning on travelling with a companion or flying solo, you can access all Avios and Money and Reward Flight Saver (RFS) options, meaning your trip could cost as little as £1 in cash.3

British Airways American Express® Premium Plus Card

Get a British Airways American Express Premium Plus Companion Voucher when you spend £10,000 each membership year on the Card. Companion Vouchers can be used when you redeem Avios for a Reward Flight in any cabin.

You can now use your Companion Voucher to explore more destinations by booking Reward Flights that include journeys with Iberia or Aer Lingus.

Reward Flights and Companion Voucher bookings are subject to availability and taxes, fees, carrier charges apply per person. The British Airways American Express Premium Plus Companion Voucher is valid for 24 months from issuance.2

Follow these simple steps

  1. Log in to your British Airways Executive Club account.
  2. Select ‘Book’ at the top of the page and choose ‘Book a flight with Avios’ or, alternatively, go to the ‘My eVouchers’ section of your Executive Club homepage.
  3. Then simply select the Companion Voucher you'd like to book with.
