Overview

Set along a spectacular, white-sand shoreline, Hilton La Romana Family Resort offers a luxury all-inclusive stay in the Dominican Republic. An extensive range of facilities are dotted throughout the tropical grounds, including a water park for all ages, an ocean trampoline and two swimming pools. Away from the water, there’s a casino, fitness centre and indoor theatre, as well as a wide selection of inviting restaurants. The supervised kids’ and teens’ clubs are a welcome distraction, while adults can indulge in soothing treatments at the first-class spa.

The hotel lies on the south east coast of the Dominican Republic, enjoying a blissful setting on a Blue Flag beach. You can easily explore the picturesque fishing village of Bayahibe on foot (around three miles away) or arrange a boat trip to take you to the breathtakingly beautiful Soana Island. Two championship golf courses are also less than 14 miles away: Dye Fore Golf Course and Teeth of the Dog Golf Course. A nearby motorway runs to Punta Cana International Airport, which is around 41 miles away from the resort.

The resort is set amidst stunning, tropical gardens and offers around 400 metres of white-sand beachfront. Spend your days sunbathing under swaying palm trees or snorkelling in crystal waters, around the pier. In between relaxing, take part in a range of fun activities, including beach volleyball, giant chess and water aerobics sessions. Kayaking is available (insurance is provided at an additional cost) while boat excursions and motorised water sports are available, all at a local charge. You can also experience diving (for a supplement) at ScubaCaribe, a PADI five-star dive centre which is located on the resort’s beach.

Further activities include ping-pong, while a fitness centre offers cardio equipment, free weights, strength machines and a Nordic track. There’s are a variety of dance classes for you to choose from – whether you fancy practising your salsa, merengue or bachata dance moves. Families will appreciate exciting water park which incorporates tube slides, a lazy river and kids’ splash zone.

If your idea of a relaxing holiday is a little less action-packed, take your pick from one of two swimming pools. Alternatively, head to the luxurious spa which is home to a Swedish sauna, steam room and pressure showers. Choose from an indoor or ocean front massage or indulge in a hydro massage treatment. In the evenings, try your luck at the casino, watch big screen movies or enjoy live music and shows.

Dining information

The hotel’s excellent reputation for choice extends to its six restaurants. Spices Market is the buffet-style venue which serves daily breakfast, lunch and dinner. Offering a variety of internationally inspired dishes, this restaurant also hosts classics themed buffet nights. Later in the day, savour local seafood and grilled specialities at The Grill beachside restaurant, or order freshly prepared pizzas from Pizzeria. You can also head to Tres Hermanas for light snacks and premium coffees. For a la carte dining, there’s the French restaurant, Moustache, and the elegant Italian restaurant, Azzurri. Otherwise, Ausangate specialises in tempting South American cuisine (be sure to try the succulent, fillet steak).

Enjoy refreshing drinks and cocktails all around the property, whether it’s at the lobby bar, swim-up bar, pool bar or barefoot beach bar. On the Rocks is another place to enjoy sundowners, with calming views across the Caribbean Sea. The Club Lounge, which is offered exclusively to Enclave guests, serves light bites, drinks and coffees.

Additional information

Casual attire should be worn at the buffet restaurant, beachside grill and poolside pizzeria. Swimwear must be covered, and bare feet are not permitted. The dress code for all a la carte restaurants is casual elegance. This means that men must wear long trousers.

It’s advisable to book transfers in this destination. Transfers must be booked as additional items, for which separate vouchers will be required.
