Set amongst sandy beaches, coral reefs and hilly landscapes, this intimate retreat provides a spa village to relax in, a PADI diving centre to explore the natural marine conservation area and fresh seafood and regional cuisine to enjoy.

This island is a 15-minute speedboat ride from the airport and provides a peaceful escape, with hills, sandy beach and lush tropical rainforest around the Gaya Island Resort. The stunning coral reefs and the marine conservation area that surround it are a divers paradise. This hotel is home to a marine rescue centre with a resident marine biologist and is committed to rehabilitating endangered green sea turtles and injured animals.

The resorts Spa Village is set in lush mangroves and provides transformative treatments inspired by the indigenous Sabah people. This gives you the perfect pampering to unwind after a day enjoying the activity programmes available here.

Make the most of the dining options, with fresh seafood and local cuisine served up, or try a beach barbecue at dusk.

One of the resorts main attractions is the coral reef that surrounds its sandy beach, with all sorts of sea life - including the clown fish made famous by Finding Nemo. Experienced divers can venture off on their own, or you can make use of the resident marine biologist and diving excursions.

For those who prefer to stay on land, wild Proboscis monkeys live in the surrounding jungle of the island or you can adventure along one of the forested trails and keep an eye out for wildlife such as bearded pigs and mouse deers.
