Almeria tips

Our insider Almeria tips will have you feeling holiday ready in no time.

When to tip

Tipping is not compulsory here. Leaving some small change (a Euro or two) at cafes and bars is considered a nice thing to do, but not expected. Tipping in an upscale restaurant is perhaps more customary, in which case 10% of the bill is the norm.

Free things to do

You don’t need to spend a fortune to have an amazing time in Almeria. The best view in the city can be enjoyed – free of charge – at the remarkable Alcazaba fortress in the city. Unwind on the Costa de Almeria’s array of beautiful beaches, or explore the striking scenery of the UNESCO-protected Cabo de Gata Natural Park.

Weather in Almeria

Weather is generally mild all year round in Almeria, reaching highs of 33°C in July and August. If basking on the Costa de Almeria’s golden shores are high on your agenda, then May through to August is the best time of year to visit. For city exploration, the slightly cooler spring and autumn temperatures (averaging 20°C) are ideal.
