Israeli consumer law

A ticket purchased by an individual in Israel in a "long-distance sales transaction" as defined in the Israeli Consumer Protection Law, 1981, is subject to the provision of the Israeli Consumer Protection Law, 1981, and may be cancelled by notice in writing:

  • Within fourteen days of the date of purchase or of receipt of a document containing the details listed in article 14C(b) - whichever is later; and
  •  At least seven days, not being days of rest, before the date of departure.

In such case, the cancellation fee shall be equal to 5% of the price of the ticket or NIS 100, whichever is lower. Otherwise cancellation fees as per fare rule will apply.

A ticket purchased by an individual in Israel who is a "disabled person", a "senior citizen" or a "new immigrant" in a "long-distance sales transaction" according to the definitions of these terms as set out in the Israeli Consumer Protection Law, 1981, may be cancelled by notice in writing:

  • Within four months of the date of purchase or of receipt of a document containing the details listed in article 14C(b) - whichever is later; and
  • At least seven days, not being days of rest, before the date of departure.

This will apply solely on transactions which included a conversation between the dealer and the consumer (including a conversation by means of electronic communication). In such case, the cancellation fee shall be equal to 5% of the price of the ticket or NIS 100, whichever is lower. Otherwise cancellation fees as per fare rule will apply.
