Baggage

Family packing a car

We offer infants and children their own equally generous baggage allowance, which includes things they need, like a pushchair (stroller) and car seat.

Hand baggage allowances

When you travel with us, your child (aged 2-11) has the same hand baggage allowance as an adult.

If you are travelling with an infant (under 2), you'll be able to bring an extra bag for them, included in your allowance, with the items that they may need during the flight.

When you pay for a seat for your infant, they are booked as a ‘child’ and are given the allowance a child would receive, which is the same as an adult.

You cannot combine your baggage allowances, so please make sure you know the number of bags per person, plus size and weight limits for hand baggage.

Airport security restrictions for liquids

Airport security will vary around the world, so please check what restrictions your airport has in place for carrying baby milk and food in your hand baggage.

You’ll be able to take liquids through security that meet the general restrictions. When you’re travelling with a baby, you may also take milk and formula in baby bottles, which can exceed the liquid measure restrictions.

Checked baggage

Your child will have the same free checked baggage allowance as you, which will vary depending on which cabin you are travelling in.

If you are travelling with an infant (under 2), they are given one free checked bag, as per the adult weight and size limit for that travel class.

You cannot combine your baggage allowances, so please make sure you know the number of bags per person, plus size and weight limits for checked bags.

Checked baggage allowances

In addition you can also take these items for your infant or child, free of charge:

  • one fully-collapsible pushchair (stroller) and
  • one car seat

Pushchair
If you have a small, fully collapsible and lightweight pushchair/stroller (with maximum dimensions of 117cm x 38cm x 38cm/46in x 15in x 15in when the pushchair is collapsed), you will qualify to take this right to the aircraft door and collect at the aircraft door at most airports.

Please arrive at your departure gate no later than 40 minutes before departure time, and prepare to pre-board the aircraft.

The staff will put your pushchair into the hold and will do all possible to return it to you at the aircraft door.

All other, larger pushchairs, including double and multi-piece pushchairs can be taken to the departure gate, however, on arrival you must pick up these larger pushchairs at the baggage carousel in the baggage hall.

Car seat
You may take the car seat on board the aircraft, if you have booked a seat for your infant or child and intend to secure the car seat into it.

Please check car seat dimensions and safety requirements so that you know your car seat will fit safely into the aircraft seat.
