Finding Your Feet
Imelda Staunton and Celia Imrie make for compulsive viewing as long-estranged sisters Sandra and Bif.
When snooty and entitled Sandra discovers her husband of 40 years has been having an affair she de-camps to older, bohemian sister Bif’s North London flat. Her plans to drown her sorrows are no match for Bif’s zest for life and she is dragged along to the local dance class, among other life-enhancing pursuits.
Deliciously supported by the likes of Joanna Lumley, Timothy Spall and John Sessions, this heart-on-its-sleeve comedy depicts some of the challenges of later life (and death) with warmth, crushing honesty and more than a little silliness. There is romance and redemption here, for sure, but the changing relationship between the two sisters is the real heart of the film, gloriously conveyed by two of Britainâs very best.
